Thank you all,

Boat yard damaged my boat PDQ 34

Greetings All, Got my boat pulled for bottom paint. The yard used too small a travel lift in my opinion and bent my toe rail and damaged the railing. Does anyone have any knowledge of a source for a replacement railing or any experience of straightening the aluminum toe rails. Thank you Carl Johnson...

Re: Solar question Sage advise needed

Thats a great idea, thanks for sharing your experiences. I'm not well schooled on this solar stuff either, I do a little research and then follow what others have done.

Hi all, I am in the final throws of completing a solar install on Karma. Equipment 3 x 100w Newpa panels wired in parallel (due to shading) mounted off seat frame to top of davits ,8 ga wiring to Epever MPPT 30 amp controller with Mt-50 remote display, Blue seas 30 amp breaker mounted either side of...

battery hatch seal and engine hatch seal

2003 PDQ Question. Does anyone have knowledge of best replacement/source/type material for battery hatch cover seal. Also should the engine hatch cover panels sit on/against similar type seal material. I'm inclined to think it should but our boat has none. Thank you all, Carl on Karma (formally Belm...

Thanks for the great pics and detail. Food for thought for sure. I'm not sure which way I'm going yet but greatly appreciated.

Re: Cutless bearing story

Hi Mike' We are re launching on Mon. We looked at Easy Rider on our search a year ago. I really like what the previous owner did on enhancing the flybridge seating etc. Ours is a plain Jane at the moment so we are gathering ideas on seating ,table ,cooler etc. Its going to be a Spring project as we ...

Thanks Deising,

I'll continue to keep throwing little bits and bobs out there. An active and involved owners forum only helps and enhances the value our boats.

Cheers Carl

Motor mount removal /replacement cont.

one other useful tool , a magnetic retrieving tool for when you drop a wrench under motor and you will. First thing take a mirror and mini mag light look inside the stringer access hole. You should hopefully see the head of the 2 14mm bolts that hold the mounts in place. Here starts the challenge! U...

Motor mount removal /replacement

Unless you are nibble, can make yourself small, and are relatively fit, this is a job that you should farm out. It is a bytch, it's a back breaker, you are going to torture yourself, steal your wife's yoga mat because your going to need it. These days when I tackle something new to me I always go to...

Motor mounts Is it time to have a closer look!

First off I want to say I believe in the phrase "if it aint broke don't fix it". When I was doing my own pre-purchase check prior to purchasing our boat I found the engine rooms to be in shit order but when scanning over the engine mounts they looked a bit rusty around the edges but overal...
