Looking for Upper Helm Raymarine E80 monitor
My upper helm Raymarine GPS monitor died, so I'm looking for a replacement if anyone has or knows of one. I also am looking for a Raymarine 2k radar data bank. If these aren't available, alternative suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks, Jim

Re: upper helm gps monitor shutting down
It appears my upper helm Raymarine E80 gps monitor has died. If anyone is aware of a working E80 upper helm gps monitor, I'm in the market for one. What are the options for replacing the upper monitor if a Raymarine E80 isn't available? Also, I'm missing the data bank for the Raymarine 2k radar. Tha...

Re: upper helm gps monitor shutting down
Thanks Duane. I talked with a local GPS store who recommended I contact Raymarine and download any updates on a cf disc and load it on the unit. I’ll see how well that turns out. Jim

upper helm gps monitor shutting down
Our upper helm gps monitor spontaneously shuts off and goes blank. If we reboot the lower helm monitor it comes back on. Any suggestions would be appreciated. Jim

I hope James and Duane received my last post thanking them. The problem was the upper helm canvas. Jim

Re: DISENGAGE TRANSMISSION AND CAN'T SHIFT STARBOARD SHIFTER AT THE LOWER HELM
Thanks again guys! You’re the best. I removed the helm canvas that covers the shifter and other instruments and the lower helm shifts like a hot blade through butter! Jim

Re: DISENGAGE TRANSMISSION AND CAN'T SHIFT STARBOARD SHIFTER AT THE LOWER HELM
I think it may be the canvas at the upper helm. I did remove the shifter cover and opened the wiring door and followed the cables to the transmission s and they all looked fine. I know I didn't remove the canvas over the upper helm the last time I tried. I don’t remember the previous times. I’ll dou...

Re: DISENGAGE TRANSMISSION AND CAN'T SHIFT STARBOARD SHIFTER AT THE LOWER HELM
I made a mistake. There is no knob. I pull the shifter starboard lever outward. This is the combined gear and accelerator for the starboard diesel at the inside helm. I can’t shift it or accelerate. The lower port engine allows me to shift and accelerate in gear. The shifter at the upper helm works ...

DISENGAGE TRANSMISSION AND CAN'T SHIFT STARBOARD SHIFTER AT THE LOWER HELM
I've recently been unable to disengage the transmission at the lower helm to wash the turbo props at the lower helm. After pushing and pulling on the little knob of the starboard side of the lower helm shifter I am now unable to shift the gears on the starboard engine at the lower helm. The lower he...

Storing gasoline, equalizineg batteries
We are still learning our boat and we have a few questions. What is the preferred location to store gasoline for the dinghy's outboard? Is it the starboard forward lazarette or on the floor of the dinghy under the Bimini or someplace else. We were using the fuel tank in the outboard (6 hp Yamaha 4 s...

Re: Replacing house batteries
9.18/16 I followed your suggestions and with your encouragement successfully replaced the four Trojan T145's with identical batteries for $730. rather than the $2,200. quote from the marina. Thanks guys. Now if I can just find where to turn on the Tristar solar panels. I found the control box hidden...

Re: Replacing house batteries
Thanks Mac and John. Is there a recommended order to removing the wires? I will turn off everything at the electrical panel and turn off the combiner under the helm seat. Jim

Replacing house batteries
Eileen and I recently purchased a 2006 PDQ and our house batteries aren't holding a charge and are using water. They are 6 year old Trojan 145 plus deep cycle 6v batteries in series and parallel ( a total of four batteries). I'm not having luck arranging for the local yard to replace them, so I'm co...
