Re: Flybridge seal with upper deck
Easy Riders has stopped in at New England Boatworks for a little work, courtesy of the Bavaria 46 that hit me while I was on my mooring at Block Island. I saw the yard technicians doing some caulking on the bigger yachts, and asked them to re-caulk the flybridge (The Legendary Hull #29 flybridge con...

Re: Storage around lower helm seat
Thanks Chris ! That's a great idea on the swivel, and I've added it to my notes. The seat definitely gets more use during cocktails parties than it does as a helm seat.

Re: Storage around lower helm seat
Hi All - I pulled the trigger on moving aboard Easy Risers (sold the house yesterday) ! Re: Lightweight Dinghy
Here's a review of the open bow Takacat inflatable catamaran dinghy from my earlier post, T260LS, 8'-6", 55 lbs. (I'm using a Torqeedo 1103CS electric outboard, 39 lbs.) Pros: The Takacat is well built and highly efficient. Easy to row upwind. Under average conditions, the Torqeedo powers her a...

Thanks everyone !
John - if I was thinking right, I would have asked you to dive the boat while you were here ... stern tube and cutlass look perfect.
Alan - the Sage of Palm Coast is as wise as ever !! I'll save the spun collar so you can see it in person.

Collar Around Port Shaft - Can You Identify This ??
Hi All ! We had some excitement last Saturday night during a storm at Block Island. A large sailboat blew down on my mooring and got pinned broad side on my bows. The mooring field was very crowded, with high winds and a steep chop. Once I got cut loose, it took some chaotic maneuvering and full pow...

Re: Power Issue
Since we're on the subject of power issues ... I've got a 2011 Xantrex Freedom with remote panel. When on Shore Power, I normally run one power cord into the lower Shore Power 1 connection, then turn Shore Power 1 ON, and Parallel Bus A & B ON, Inverter Enable Switch OFF. This energizes the 120 ...

Russ - thank you very much for posting this ! Here's the report from Hull #29: The prior owner replaced both Turbo's in 2020 (Thanks Bargain Bill !). The starboard screws came right out, but it looks like the old gasket was reused with some red Permatex, and it was shot. Mastry had the Yanmar gasket...

Re: Fuel Pick up tube problem
I sent the fuel injection pump to Nozzle Masters in Orlando. www.dieselinjectionspecialist.com. They were very helpful on the phone. We shipped it by UPS - It delivered to them on Wednesday, they re-built it and shipped it out Thursday, and we received it Friday. All for the low, low flat rate of $1...

Re: Storing gasoline, equalizineg batteries
I'm getting ready to equalize batteries for the first time. I'll turn off the 12v Panel.
I have a Pathmaker Combiner. Do I need to physically disconnect the starting batteries, or will switching the Combiner "Off" work ?
