Re: All electric conversion
Ron This sounds interesting. I'm wondering how you plan to provide enough charging for your batteries given the limited real estate for solar on the 32. Also, how much power will this give you? As an owner of a 32 LRC I appreciate the diesels when I find myself motoring against a headwind or current...

Re: PDQ 32 cockpit ports/windows
I am resurrecting this thread to show how I replaced the cockpit hatches. I purchased three of the Bowmar hatches from Go2Marine, 171/2 x 12 1/2 size https://www.go2marine.com/Low-Profile-Molded-Marine-Hatches-Bomar-900-Series?quantity=1&size=199 They did not have them in stock but special order...

Hi Brenda
I have a 32 in Punta Gorda in need of window replacement and would sail up to Tampa if I could find a good person. Can you please give me contact info? Thanks

Re: Prop Sizes and performance! LRC diesels
I had the same issue when I bought my boat in 2017: 2800 RPM max and the engines were smoking. The three blade props were 15inch with a pitch of 12. I took them to Coastal Prop and they re-pitched them to 9 pitch. That did the trick. I could then get the RPMS to 3600 if I wanted to, and there was no...

My 32 is in Fishermen's Village Marina in Punta Gorda. I will be on the boat in early December and will be happy to give you a tour. Send me a PM in early Dec and we can set up a time.

Re: PDQ 32 cockpit ports/windows
I have the same issue with the cockpit hatches on Terrapin. Looking at the Pompanette web site, the 900 series looks to be the same hatch, but there is very little information on it. The problem is with the hinge on the door of the hatch. I'm hoping I can just replace that without replacing the whol...

Re: Flexofold propellers
Wow, that is an extreme pitch. Are you sure you're not confusing pitch with the length of the blade? As I said in our discussion in the Diesel forum, the recommended FOF blade for the PDQ LRC is 15" (length) x 12 (pitch). On the hub of the blade it should be stamped, e.g. 1512R for a 15" l...

Are your FoF props still for sale? 2 or 3 blade? Pitch?

Re: Re-pitching propellers
Thanks for the plug Doubloon. Mongoose, this sounds pretty much like my experience when I bought the boat. However, I had non-folding three blade props, 15" x 12 pitch. The boat could only reach 2800 RPM and there was black smoke indicating the engines were laboring. I had the prop shop re-pitc...

Re: Charging from Portable Generator
I presume your Xantrex is a Freedom 20, like mine? Do you have the manual? If not I can send you a pdf for both the Freedom 20 and the Link 2000. There is nothing in the manual about requiring a "pure sine wave" input. The manual does say that it is sensitive to reduced voltage input, so i...

Re: Charging from Portable Generator
I have a Honda EU2000 that I use sometimes to charge the bank, as you describe. It works very well. With the correct cable, the output of the gen plugs into the shore power inlet. The AC output of the generator looks the same as shore power and your Xantrex should detect it. There is a charge button...

Re: Genoa and Assymetrical only speeds and handling
I agree with Thinwater. On his recommendation, I installed a 120% genoa when I replaced my sails. I bought a new main, genoa and spinnaker from Mack Sails. I can't imagine using a 180% genoa, that sounds unmanageable. I did this right after I bought the boat, so I never experienced the self tacking ...

Yep, one of the first things I replaced on Terrapin.
I got the reverse bevel with flush strike.
