Re: Fuel tank depth for sensor

Yup, hole pattern, wiring, function, all easy peasy.

I use the capacitance type of sensor on my water and holding tanks so there is no risk of gumming up the works.

Measured 6" deep. I'll install a five inch KUS reed switch sending unit in June.

Fuel tank depth for sensor

Does anyone know the depth of the fuel tank on the 36? I want to order a sensor replacement from the Defender sale and I'm away from the boat until April.

Re: What is the best Freshwater prump for PDQs

I tried to replace the original Shurflo with a new Shurflo replacement. The original had an accumulator, but the replacement supposedly didn't need the accumulator. I went through several Shurflo pumps(and great advice for tech support). They failed within months. I purchased the Whale Accumulator P...

Electric Choke Switch Options

Howdy folks! My new, 2016, Yamaha 9.9s have an electric choke and no manual option. The original Yamaha Ignition Switch panel does not include an electric choke switch. The original panel still works reliably, so I'm not inclined to replace it. Although I can flip the choke to the 'on' position afte...

Re: galley sink faucet

Hi Bob, Happy New Year! I've attached pics of my galley setup with Scandvik 10474. The Starboard spacer serves the purpose of minimizing the intrusion into the cabinet storage and covers up the poorly drilled holes of a "Marine Professional". The Whale fittings can be matched with just abo...

Re: Replacement engines

They posted the wrong picture. Although they describe it as an XPB and XPA, there is no XPA version. The write up describes it as a remote model that requires control cables. Tiller models do not need that. I suppose someone would call if interested. I would.

Re: Replacement Engines for 32 Altair

The 2016 and newer T9.9 XPB (remote, long shaft) fit better than the mid 2000 era engines. They come with the ten pin connector, which was plug-and-play on my 2000 PDQ36. They do not have manual choke, so you will need a 'push-to-choke' ignition switch. You could probably pull the manual choke rod o...

Re: No manual choke on 2016 Yamaha 9.9 XPB

I'm going to delay the change of ignition switch since I can manually rotate the choke into position if needed.

I'm still interested in any ideas you may have.

Thanks.

2016 T9.9 XPB only has electric choke, i guess. Here is a pic.
