Re: Air Conditioner Replacement

Our boat came with Dometic 16,000 BTU in the main salon and 7,000 BTU for the aft berths. We replaced the main salon unit because of rust with the same size Dometic unit. I believe the 16,000 BTU was standard equipment for the main salon.

Re: OVEN ALTERNATIVE

We have a 2003 with only a regular microwave, so we purchased a small toaster oven with wattage, features, size, etc to meet our needs. When not in use it is stored in the large cabinet in the port stateroom (which I dubbed "the root cellar.") In order to increase counter space, we adapted...

Re: Engine overheating

Per Mastery Yanmar in Saint Petersburg, FL. The HE core is to be installed with the "Air Vents" in the top position. This will place the "shield openings" on the bottom. As I stated in an earlier post, the HE core in my starboard engine was installed in the opposite position (shi...

Re: Engine overheating

John, When your HE core was removed, what was the position of the "opening" in the shield? Were they on top, bottom or side? I just pulled my starboard HE and sent out for cleaning. I was looking at the Yanmar Service Manual and the diagram has the "opening" on the side. Mine wer...

Re: Cabin window treatments

Our side window treatments are similar to those on "Diva Di." The front windows have exterior covers made from Phifertex. But, it only blocks out 70% of light, so we also have interior covers made of blackout lining. They attach to the window frames with velcro. They are easy to remove and...

Re: Thru Hull Transducer

Thanks Bob & Alan for the info. We utilized the chase from the lower helm to the flybridge to run a new wire to the port tacho. Wasn't sure about the chase from the head to the lower helm/flybridge.

Re: Thru Hull Transducer

Bob,

Did you run the wiring to the flybridge, lower helm or both? Could you please describe the route from the transducer?

Re: Replacing house batteries

Jim, My wife and I replaced our 5 Lifeline AGM batteries (factory installed) with no major issues. We did a drawing and also took photos of the batteries and connections. We had to remove four of the batteries to get to the fifth battery. Your process should be easier. Just turn your battery switch ...

Re: Flybridge Tachometer

I swapped the port tach with the starboard tach in the flybridge. The port tach worked. So, now I am chasing a wiring/connection issue. Does anyone know if the flybridge tach is wired directly to the engine or is it a repeater of the lower helm tach? Any ideas?

Thanks Alan. I will probably end up swapping the tachs if a connection issue does not surface.

Flybridge Tachometer

My port tachometer in the flybridge quit working. The starboard tach and lower helm are working fine. I cleaned the wiring connector behind the tachometer and that did not help. I was hoping to be able to swap the wiring connector with the starboard tach (to try to determine if the problem is the ta...
