Re: Bed-making
I just found the Hypervent site through google. The site now shows their product at 12.00 per foot as opposed to 7.00.

Re: Ground tackle?
Thanks Drew. I am going to have my friend make a "gate" for our bridle plate.
Eepstein: Can you clarify for me. Are you taking one extra line, tying it to your rode with the rolling hitch and then leading it back to your other hull to form the bridle?

Re: Ground tackle?
OK everyone, please remember that we are new so limit the name calling :D , but we are having real issues setting the bridle on our new anchor chain. We purchased one of the ABI bridle plates and have it attached via shackles to bridle lines. The problem we are having is getting it into position wit...

Re: Ground tackle?
As a follow up to this thread we ultimately ordered a 15 kg Rocna anchor, 100 feet of 5/16" chain and 200 feet of 5/8" line. We also ordered a chain plate to use in the bridal. This will be a significant upgrade to what we are currently using.

Re: Amps are high, but the time is short.
You did not mention a secondary anchor for when tides shift and thunderstorms. I have read the info on your site about this thinwater. I am thinking one step at a time, trying to sort our our primary anchor/rode first. I will give this consideration though, before we venture too far from home. Than...

Re: Ground tackle?
We made it back to the marina, without dragging:)
As for swinging, yes, I guess so, as the wind clocked. I wouldn't say we were swinging any more or less than the monohulls in the anchorage though.

Re: Ground tackle?
That's funny Mark. We are at anchor right now. Earlier today we decided to take a look at our boat's other anchor, which came with the boat when we purchased it. It is a 35 lb. CQR.

Re: Ground tackle?
Thanks very much everyone! I don't know what the energy drain on the batteries are for an electric windlass but having one does seem to be common. Is a manual windlass at all worth consideration? The Rocna is the anchor we are looking at now. It seems to come highly recommended by just about everyon...

Re: Ground tackle?
Thanks for the replies guys. I am not at all lazy when it comes to research and I did do as the initial reply suggested and search the forum. As we are new to PDQs and boating in general I was hoping that some PDQ (32) owners might be able to share what works for them. We, and the PO, are using a 10...

Ground tackle?
I know anchors and anchoring are a hot topic amongst boat owners but my wife and I are new PDQ 32 owners and would love to hear some input. We just watched a couple of boats drag through a crowded anchorage. Fortunately ours held fine, this time. What do some of the PDQ 32 owners use? Anchors? Rode?...

Thanks Sandy! We have been longtime lurkers here so have seen how helpful everyone is. We are very much newbies so will no doubt have plenty of questions as time goes by.

Re: 2000 Altair Classic for sale
I am very happy to say my wife Rebecca and I will be Katana's new owners! The boat was surveyed yesterday and everything was great. The boat is immaculate, a testament to the care that she has received. Anthony and Jackie, Katana's present owners, will be helping us deliver the boat to her new home ...
