Re: New MV 34 owners

Congrats on your new boat. We are headed to the Chesapeake in April. Maybe we will see you somewhere. We originally had 75 HP with 16x13 4 blade props and could not reach max RPM's. Repitched stbd to 11 1/2 and port to 11 ( due to reversing gear ). Our mechanic is adamant about not overloading the m...

Re: 4” boot stripe green vinyl tape

Dennis,
Rapid Tac application fluid works well to remove old glue and for wetting the hull before applying the new tape.

No longer available. It has been repurposed into a workbench.

Re: Anyone need a dining table?

# 39. This is a single piece of Plywood with reinforcement. I'm sure it was built to create a berth in the salon. The 2 reinforcements are about 5/4 x 4 which may be OK without center supports. That may depend on the live loading.

Anyone need a dining table?

I have a rectangular dining table if anyone needs it. I replaced it with a folding table and it has been sitting in my shop ever since. It's in good condition. I can bring it to the meeting in Jan.

Re: Boat yard damaged my boat PDQ 34

Carl, Our toe rail was bent by slamming a piling during a downburst. You will need several very heavy duty, large (10-12") C clamps, blocks of 2x4 and something very strong that will span the length of the damage. Span the damage on the outside and pull the pull the toe rail back out with the c...

Re: sliding screens

John, There is an easy way to remove the screen frame if you ever need to do it again. The U shape plastic on the top and bottom of the frame usually move with the frame. Find something that is smaller than the bottom (or top) of the plastic. A thin piece of a popsicle stick may work. Hold the plast...

Re: Starter Breaker

What transmissions do you have? The ZF 25M has the neutral switch on the transmission. We just installed 4JH110's with ZF 30M's that do not have a neutral switch. I installed switches at the lower helm, and bought extra switches as spares.

Re: SS tubing for transmission cooler

We reused one of the original 25M transmissions since one of the new 30M was on backorder. The transmission cooler was replaced with one that has 1" ends. It is mounted on the same bracket. The ss pipe was replaced with 1" rubber hose. The outboard side hose was just straight 1" hose....

Re: Repowering with 110HP

In hindsight, cutting the decks was the best alternative. The deck opening was very useful for passing tools and parts. The transmissions were easily removed and installed with a rope. It also provided great light and ventilation. A water dam was installed around the opening. The lids from the packi...

Re: Repowering with 110HP

The new motors are installed so we have 2 - 75's for sale if anyone is in need. The motors run perfectly. We also have 2 sets of 4 blade props.

Re: SS tubing for transmission cooler

Nick, I jumped the gun when I posted this. My mechanic has talked me out of giving them away. I need to delete the post. We have repowered with 110 HP and 30M transmissions (have one, other on back order). I still have the old 75 HP's and the 25M trans (still using one). He suggested keeping the com...

SS tubing for transmission cooler

Does anyone need the tubing. It is in good condition, no holes, and it's free.

Anyone need spare props? 4 blade 16 x 13

I have a pair of Hung Shen props that are in very good condition. They came with the boat so I don't know their history, and they have been stored in the bilge since then.
Thanks,

Re: Repowering with 110HP

Rafe, I'm leaning towards cutting the deck for the same reasons you mentioned. Replacing the harnesses will probably be the biggest headache. Your helm looks great. I'm using cherry for the inside helm, teak on the flybridge, replacing all of the switches, and upgrading the electronics. Thanks for t...
