Hi, I'm not sure if this is what you're looking for. When I built up my stern steps, I painted them with with Interlux 2-part polyurethane ( Interthane??). I think the color was Hatteras White. Almost a perfect match. After 7 years it still looks new. Amazing stuff.

Re: Pulling and Replacing the Engines While in the Water
Hi, The plastic handles broke off years ago after several removal attempts. I bought the socket at a boat show a long time ago(I love gadgets) and it's really been handy.

Re: Pulling and Replacing the Engines While in the Water
Hi, I just pulled one engine, and pretty much the way you did it. I 'm on land now, so I hoisted it out of the well, then switched the hoist to the main sheet tackle off the end of the boom, and lowered off the transom to the ground. I've also had trouble with the mounting screws, but I discovered a...

Re: Oil Leak?
Hi Chet, I think you nailed it. That's exactly the symptoms. I think it may be time to look for a replacement. The engine has 1600+ hours, and I don't think it's worth putting in the work.
Thanks, Marc

Re: Oil Leak?
I seem to have the same thing. I'm not burning oil, but minor leaking, until last week. I was motoring for about 2 hours, when the engine dropped down to a slow rough idle. I thouht it was a fuel problem, but when I checked the oil, it was empty. After adding oil, it ran perfectly, for 2 hours. Obvi...

Sounds sweet. Are the bridle legs attached permanently? where are they connected?

Re: Ground tackle?
I also use the rolling hitch method. I anchor from the port side, then pull a designated line from the stbd side, tie a rolling hitch to the anchor rode, and then let out rode from the port side until tthe "V" is centered. Simple, easy and no extra equipment. I've used this for 12 years. M...

Re: Anyone going to the Annapolis boat show?
Thanks for the invitation. We will try to come. One more good anchoring option is Weems Creek, in West Annapolis. The best part of this is that it is across the street from the Naval Academy Stadium, where the free shuttle runs into town. There are also about 8-10 moorings belonging to the Naval Aca...

Re: Wanted. Mainsail for older 36
Hi Dan, I'm not sure if the size of the older sails are the same as the new ones, but I would be interested. I live near Phila. so it would be easy for me to see.

Ditto! I'm currently at the Jersey shore, but it would be a nice cruise for us.

Re: Does anyone know of a haul-out in southern GA?
I saw a PDQ hauled out at the Brunswick Landing Marina. It was a tight squeeze, but they did it with no damage. I think the boat was Praire Dreamer, or something like that.

Re: Hard top bimini for older PDQ36?
You're right, I agree. At the time I built this it would have cost an additional $3-4000 for the hardtop. As I said, If I should have to replace the top, I would try to build a lightweight f/g one. I would have preferred to have an original, like yours, but I'm satisfied with 2nd best.

Re: Hard top bimini for older PDQ36?
Hi Phil, I did consider cutting in a window, but the top fit so nice I was afraid of screwing it up. Also, on the old original bimini, I had a window, and found it very annoying. Either the sun was in my eyes ,or the main'sl was in the way. I actually kept it covered most of the time. Phil, do you l...
