Re: Hard top bimini for older PDQ36?
Thanks Mike, I guess I shouldn't be calling this a bimini, because it's actually one unitized welded fabrication, that's bolted down to the deck. It's constructed from 1.5" dia. heavy wall aluminum. It could actually support a hardtop. I chose Stamoid strictly because of the cost, but if I had ...

Re: Hard top bimini for older PDQ36?
Just a note on the Stamoid. It's very strong and does not stretch, I mean never. Anything made from it must fit perfectly.
I'll try to get a picture posted, but I'm not too good at doing that.

Re: Hard top bimini for older PDQ36?
I have a 1993 PDQ36, that I've had since 1997. At the time, the hardtop was available as an after-market add-on. I procrastinated, and in 2004 I tried to order one, but they were no longer available. So, I decided to build one. I had a welded framework built, but instead of a hard f/g top I covered ...

Re: No fuel?
The anti-siphon valves caused me grief for a long time, until I realized that they were the problem. I removed them and haven't had a problem since. This was around 10 years ago. I dont know why they are even needed. The fuel lines are higher than the tank.

Re: Ground Tackle
Duetto, There are two places to attach the rode to the anchor on the Manson. There is a hole at the top of the shank, where it's normally connected. The slot is supposed to be used in in rocky areas, where it may get snagged, and by pulling in the opposite direction you might get the achor to releas...

Re: Stack Pack
What the heck is XPVC? I built a welded tubular frame, similar to the size and shape of a hardtop, and covered it with Stamoid fabric. Is XPVC stong enough to stand on? I'd sure like to know more about it. Sounds really interesting.

Re: 9.9 latch problems and possible fix
Looks good. I suggest you put another eye strap on the center of the cowl, to prevent the rope from sliding off when it's slacked. Mine even slipped when it was tensioned, thus the strap in the center.

Re: Radar Reflector
For what it's worth, I have been conducting my own test of my Davis radar reflector, for the past 5-6 years. Whenever I encounter a tug, I call and ask how I look on his radar, and the respnse has always been "Good". I mounted it permanently by threading the baby stay thru the center of th...

Re: Yamaha water pump replacement
I'll try to describe what I did. Remove the nuts. Replace them with barrel nuts.(longer nuts used for connecting 2 threaded bolts). Do not tighten the nuts, leave about 1/16" space. Put a C-clamp over the top of the flange, and over the bottom of the nut. Tightening the clamp will pull the flan...

That's the one. It's held up very well, and it's so simple. All you need is an eye for the hooks,Oh,and white shoes.

The Manson Supreme, a Rocna knock-off, supposedly performs as well at 1/2 the price.
