Re: Macerator pump installation
I have pictures of my installation but I can't load them because they are too large. Any suggestions?

Where is 36089?
Just wondering where my old boat is. Last time I heard, it was on it's way to the Virgin Islands.

Re: Davit failures
I used to own hull # 108 and the davits were strong. I left the drain plug in my dingy once and it completely filled with water with no issues except my embarassment.

Re: Rudder Removal
I don't think you need to remove the quadrant to lower the rudder.

Re: Clamshell covers?
Looks like Root's idea is best and cheaper. Mine cost about $25 with shipping.

Re: Rudder Removal
If your boat is blocked, you will need to dig a hole to allow the rudder to be removed. Remove the set screw(bolt) located on the quadrant and lower the rudder. In my case, the rudder was bent straight back, so I just drilled another hole in the rudder shaft a little higher to allow clearance betwee...

Re: Clamshell covers?
I replaced one on my 34 in 2013. Have been wracking my brain for where I bought it. Just figured it out.
Go to Beckson Marine, choose Plastic Vents and look at #C4A mini clamshell vent. Dimensions are 4 1/4 w by 4 1/8 l by 1 1/2 h.
Attached it with 5200.
Hope it works out for you.

Re: yanmar exhaust elbow
John, I had 2 failures. The first was a crack where the cooling water tube is welded to the exhaust elbow. Check for cracks in the weld. The second was the bolts that attach the elbow to the block. They rusted through and allowed exhaust gases into the boat. Mine were SS but I understand that the ca...

Re: Litter box on the MV34?
I put the litter box in the space below the seat on the starboard side of the couch. I cut a hole in the wall and put a 10 in hatch cover ring so the cats could access the box. Worked well.

Try a search on this vent. I think that Dick Tucshick posted about having these in stock.

Re: Maserator pump
Ditto what John said. The more times you cycle thru the hi temp shutoff, the faster it will shut off in the future. I replaced mine with a diaphragm pump.

Re: Air Compressor On Board
It's been a long time. I sold her in 2007. Never had a problem with the fridge door. I think the solar went directly to the batteries..maybe at the master cutoff switch. If the cockpit lights go to the main panel, you could test by turning them on and selectively turn off panel lighting switches unt...

Re: Air Compressor On Board
I used to own 36089. I bought a neat little compressor from Harbor Freight for the sole purpose of being able to blow out the jets and other clogged passages in the carbs for the 9.9's. I used the honda 2000 to power it.

Re: Documentation number placard
I did the same as John on Duetto. 4 inch vinyl letters( like the ones you use for dingy ID) applied in the port forward locker and covered with clear epoxy. Don't forget to place a period after the NO.

Re: Storage for 2014 hurricane season - Bahamas
Ditto what John said.... My understanding of summer crossing conditions is that conditions are generally better...milder winds and less waves. As with all crossings, you would need to review the weather and pick your time.... with your boat's speed, it is a max of a two day trip. I usually left Mars...
