Re: Prop Sizes and performance! LRC diesels
According the my notes: "Propellers - Michigan 16 x 13 (2 blade) per owner's manual." We get 3200-3400 max rpm with our 2GM20 diesels on our chronically overloaded boat. I occasionally run the diesels up to 3600 before shut down to blow out carbon. The sell them here: https://www.deepbluey...

Re: New Owner - Bulb Part #'s
The original anchor light (I believe aqua signal) was damaged in a storm. I replaced it 18 months ago with a Pactel LED: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B01KY5UH1M/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&psc=1 I was skeptical, but I gotta say, it has been through some crappy wx and is going ...

Re: Replacing original solar panels
I fed mine through the top into the helm light fixture. From there the wires go down the support and into the cabin. I recall fishing wires was a reasonable one-man job and that large wires should fit (I think mine were #10 and there was lots of space). https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-6o2F9j_OuL8/WUBRkN...

Re: Replacing original solar panels
Along this subject, maybe those who have already upgraded solar panels on the hard bimini of the 32 can provide some enlightment as to wiring. How do the solar panel wires go from the bimini top to the boat interior? I'm assuming that there is a conduit thru the hard top and down one of the stainles...

Re: Replacing original solar panels
I ended going with 2- 100 watt solarworld panels from E -marine I could have fit a smaller size 20 watt in the middle but it would have pushed the ends of the 100s outside of the existing frame and it required shimming for it to fit and I didn’t feel it was worth the hassle . Thanks to all.Hope pan...

Re: Replacing original solar panels
These Renology 30 watt panels are the same size as the "Mighty Max" 23.8 x 13.5 and from a more reputable seller. Bit more pricy, however, at $53.29 each. https://www.amazon.com/Renogy-Monocrystalline-Efficiency-Module-Marine/dp/B00JDRG69K/ref=sr_1_21?ie=UTF8&qid=1544027378&sr=8-21...

Re: Replacing original solar panels
These Dokia 100w panels are 46.2 x 20.8 for $95 and would just fit lengthwise in the existing starboard frames. https://www.amazon.com/DOKIO-Watts-Volts-Monocrystalline-Solar/dp/B074DZNN8T/ref=sr_1_11_sspa?ie=UTF8&qid=1544022887&sr=8-11-spons&keywords=120+watt+flexible+solar&psc=1 Th...

Re: Replacing original solar panels
Renology and HQST have recently come out with a "compact" 100 watt mono solar panel for ~$110 each. (I think they are the same panel for both) The panels are spec'd at 42.3 x 19.5 x 1.2 inches. A couple which will easily fit within the existing frame, with room to spare. https://www.amazon...

Re: Dry Storage
Last time I hauled the boat was blocked under the keels and with a couple boards (8x4?) placed under the bridge deck per the manual held in place with jack stands (2 each). I didn't take a pic though. I don't read the manual as saying you should block the boat solely by the bridge deck, but by both ...

Re: Dry Storage
Not quite sure what you are asking here. The PDQ 32 owner's manual says the boat should be supported on the keels and underneath the forward and aft sections of the bridge deck. The manual shows using saw horses to support the sections supporting the bridge deck, but I don't know why you couldn't us...

Re: Current accurate weather
When I sailed thru the Caribbean and Bahamas about 15 years ago, I had a shortwave/SSB receiver (a Sony 7600 which I bought for a little less than $200, as I recall), with which I was able to receive wx information (voice, as well as weatherfax which you download to a laptop with software you can fi...

Re: source for bow pulpits?
I can't help you for who made PDQ pulpits, but when my Hunter 35 was trashed in a hurricane in 2006, a firm called Tops-in-Quality did a good job fabricating replacement pushpits and stanchions. I think they go by Whitewater marine marine now. http://www.whitewatermarineinc.com/pulpits.html. If you ...

Re: Replacing original solar panels
I have read that panels should not be mounted flat onto a surface, so they can dissipate heat for better efficiency. It wouldn't be an issue with rigid panels (i.e. those that come with an aluminum frame with edges to keep the panel off the surface). But I have no idea what efficiency affect, if any...

Re: Replacing original solar panels
Hey Joe, I've been researching this as well, as part of a scheme to do a solar upgrade this fall which will include adding a couple 150 watt panels over the hardtop and a couple 100s mounted over the stern. My preference would be to mount the new panels in the existing starboard mounting frames so I...
