Dining table conversion to bed

The PDQ 34 dining table can be made into a bed. Can the cushions actually be assembled into a flat bed with no gaps? Asking for my daughter whose getting the worst night sleeps. Cheers,

Re: Oil consumption for Yanmar engines

A previous posting discussed this - due to the engine angle & ??, others (& now myself) have found that if you only fill to the mid-full mark on the dipstick, you may only rarely need to add oil. If I fill to the max, they seem to fairly quickly “burn” down to mid-full, then only a pint or ...

Re: Front porch shade

I did something similar, as we move to the forward deck often, to hide from the setting sun. Before returning to the Bahamas next year I'm also going to create something to shade the flybridge in the late afternoon as well.

Re: Ice maker GFI

Hi Ross,
I had the ice maker GFI moved to the right side of the door opening. Now if it needs a reset I just open the door and it's an easy click.

Re: Thoughts on Watermakers ?

hi, can you give us an idea of what it cost and where it is located? thanks, Most of the components are in the Starboard forward hatch. The biggest component is the high pressure pump and it sits on the shelf. I still have lots of space for storage in the bottom. I don't remember the exact cost. I'...

Re: Thoughts on Watermakers ?

I have a Watermakers.com 20 gallon/hr ac modular system. I often think it's producing closer to 25-30 gph as the tanks fill up quite nicely for us when we run it. It was installed by Watermakers in Stuart, FL but it's a little cheaper to do it Fort Lauderdale as that's where they're located. Very pr...

Re: OVEN ALTERNATIVE

We use the microwave/convection oven all the time. When we had are RV we took a microwave/convection cooking class and that really opened our eyes as to how great these devices are. We've cooked full turkeys for Christmas, prime rib, breads and everything else. The highest setting is 450 F and the a...

I did the Dismal swamp about a month ago... no problem. I wouldn't do it again because it was too boring.
Have fun with your PDQ 34. I love mine.

Re: Looking for Upper Helm Raymarine E80 monitor

There is a shop in Bradenton, FL that specializes in rebuilding the monitors. I traded in my old stuff to Metco. Call them and I'm sure they'll tell you who collects all the old stuff. http://marineelectronicstc.com/ If you're interested in the rebuilding send me a message and I'll dig up the the na...

Re: Auto Pilot rudder re-calibration

Thanks for the feedback.
In our case it looks like when we hit the mud it loosened up the rudder reference shaft. We just had to center the rudders as best we could an re-tighten.
But, while there we notices some corrosion so this area should be inspected from time to time.

Auto Pilot rudder re-calibration

My auto pilot has stopped working properly. 2006 PDQ 34 When I engage the pilot the boat turns to port until the rudder is all the way to port and I'm doing circles. I have calibrated the compass and was proceeding to calibrate the rudder but the error rate was >7 and the online reference I got was....

Re: Looking for solar panels

Hi Gerry, I just had an aft bimini and 2x350s installed at Stuart Yacht last summer. These things really crank out the power so I've just increased by battery bank to close to 1000 Amps. And they fit perfectly. I'm off the boat while they finish with the battery install. If you're interested in know...
