Re: Starter Breaker
We recently had a similar issue on our boat. Tracked it down to a broken terminal connection on the actuator lead going to the starter solenoid. The solenoid is located on the top side of the starter itself. The lead is a red wire that connects to a spade terminal. Had to use a mirror to see it. The...

Re: Issue with the head
There is a solenoid water valve located behind the wall that can be accessed by removing the vanity cabinet. It can become clogged allowing water to seep past it. Replacement valves are available from Jabsco. This valve opens to allow fresh water to the toilet during the flush cycle.

Re: Engine Battery Switch
You probably have a Blue Seas battery switch. The 9006 series had a failure issue due to a construction flaw. The switch/ contact mechanism was anchored to the switch frame with tiny screws that screwed into plastic. The later version (6006) uses the long screws that mount the switch thru a mounting...

Re: Northern Lights air filter change/check
I recently discovered that there was no air filter element in the in the valve cover/intake housing on our genset. Northern Lights specifies that industrial gensets must not be operated without a filter. Interestingly many Yanmar engines simply have an intake silencer but no air filter element. I ca...

Re: Florida loop or "Smuggler's Run".... Places to stop?
Be aware that the St. Lucie lock is scheduled to close for maintainance Jan 2 until Mar 31. We keep our PDQ in Ft. Myers and frequently visit Cayo Costa. Beautiful place with a great anchorage. Water clarity in that area is unusually good right now. Lovers Key just south of Ft. Myers beach is also w...

Re: Power Issue
We had the same issue two years ago while in the Bahamas. In our case it was a complete failure of the Prosine unit. Charger and inverter. When this occurs, even while connected to shore power you will loose AC to multiple outlets. There is a temporary solution if you don't mind doing a simple elect...

Re: PSS Seal Size or Part Number
I had my PSS seals serviced with new bellows, O rings and set screws (the PSS maintenance kit) at the same time that the mid cutlass bearings were installed. The maintenance kits were PSS part# 07-114-212R. The complete new PSS seal kit should be # 02-114-212 for a shaft diameter of 1 1/4 and stern ...

Re: Sliding Door Weather Strip?
I ordered replacement weatherstrip from Pompanette. Haven't installed it yet so I can't speak to the process. The material is Pile, Wide Black .450", 23ft. per Pompanette to replace all the weatherstripping. Part #P30-2031.
