ENGINE ZINCS?
I have had my 110 Turbo engines serviced by Yanmar Dealers, but am not sure about engine zincs. several dock mates have Cat engines and recommend that Engine Zincs be changed often. What is the scoop?

Re: Bed-making
Mary- While still in Whitby I purchased foam memory pads for both of the berths. These along with a mattress pad is what I use. I start at the stern outside corner and work my way around. I agree that it is a pain, but the berths are SO comfortable it is worth the hassle. We enjoy the additional win...

Re: 34 Owners List?
I am thinking that if the information is in a "List members" area, there would be little objection to at least a phone number and or e-mail address. Those that are hesitant to allow the use of their personal info would have that control. I see this as a way to keep in touch with fellow own...

34 Owners List?
I was sent a link to a list of owners of Lord Nelson Tugs. Is there a list of 34s owners and locations of the boats? The link to the LNT site is http://lnvt.wikidot.com/. I am sure that the only person that might have a list is Salwa, and I am not sure how to reach her at this point. If there is int...

Re: noisy floor hatches
I had lots of squeeks when I picked up the boat in Whitby. They crew brought lots of velcro to the boat and started to do their thing. I must have 15 lbs of Velcro under the floorboards, but o squeeks!

Re: Hull Extension
Can you tell us about the performance delta? A friend of mine sails a Seawind 1000 and extended his hull and picked up 2-3 knots. What has it done for you?

Blogs of 2007 Trip from Whitby to San Diego
For what it is worth, I have placed the Daily Blogs of my trip from the PDQ Whitby Dock to our arrival in San Diego on my website. They can be found at http://www.rossbowling.com, and click on Vita Bella Blogs. The oldest posts are first, but I did upload pictures and text daily.

Wally
Is there any reason that a replacement horn could not be placed where the existing horn is and use the present wiring?

Re: Jabsco Quiet Flush Toilet Issue
I had a similar situation, however I turned off the fresh water switch at the panel and that did NOT do the trick. I ALWAYS turn of pump off when away from the boat. I have replaced 11 fresh water pumps in less than 2 years. :( VERY GUNSHY! The head kept filling with water and overflowed all over th...

Anyone chnged the WHIMPY horn?
I am looking to change the horn on the boat. When I blow the horn, people look for a dink, not a boat our size. I would be interested in what has been used and the number of trumpets, etc. Not trying to blow my own horn, but as Rodney Dangerfield said " I want a little respect", on SF Bay. ...

Re: ?How Many?
That is correct. I have Hull 114 on San Francisco Bay. There are only 2 34's on San Francisco Bay, and last weekend both of them were tied to the dock at a local waterfront restaurant. Pics can be seen at rossbowling.com and look for a link to a lot of nemes "and lunch at the Ramp" My boat...

T- I agonized about electric vs. gas when I was looking. I followed Henry Clews recommendation on the AB and since the 15HP is the same weight as the 9.9, went with the 15. For my use on SF Bay, it is nice to have the power to get up and go when we are at Angel Island or in the Delta. Examine your u...

Re: wood finish
G- I have sun shades on the exterior windows and have no sun bleaching. When we are underway, I always put the shades on the windows at the end of the day to keep the temp down in the boat, and this has also protected the wood. Running almost year around from the flybridge (on San Francisco Bay) I l...

My wife has arthritis and a Very Good Friend made three hand holds out of cherry to assist her from the starboard side of the boat to the salon. We took the panel adjacent to the electrical breaker panel to a GOOD paint store and they matched the color of the stain. As my boat ages, the color of the...
