Re: CONVERSION TO LITHIUM BATTERY

Attached is a picture of the 206 Ah SOK battery in the battery compartment. The parallel wiring will be 1.5'- #6 cables with 5/16" terminals. Each battery will have a 150-amp fuse. The wiring and fuses were recommended by SOK. I ordered both from Amazon. To add a second set of batteries I would...

Re: CONVERSION TO LITHIUM BATTERY

I am in the process of installing the batteries. The battery compartment has a 2X2 grid where the old 6-volt batteries sat. I originally thought I would need to modify the base for the new batteries because the mfg. specs just gave overall dimensions. (The top being bigger than the bottom with handl...

Re: CONVERSION TO LITHIUM BATTERY

The small orange wires labeled VO2 and VO3 boat wiring of the Path Maker is wired to on the Blue Sea switch for reading the voltage of the engine batteries. VO1 boat wiring is connected to the + Bus for reading the house battery voltage. The small boat's black wire on the Path Maker can be discarded...

Re: CONVERSION TO LITHIUM BATTERY

The conversion is pretty straight forward. I just received the batteries. I am using two 12 volt SOK marine 206 Ah batteries. I bought the batteries from Current Connect. With shipping they came to $1500 for both. The ad I read said that the battery cells meet UL1973. The batteries can be disassembl...

Brian,
What type of hardware do you have? Is it the marine version or RV?

Re: CONVERSION TO LITHIUM BATTERY

I am in the process of converting to LiFePO4 batteries. I bought two Victron DC to DC chargers for the engines alternator. I am looking for a place to mount the Victrons. The most convenience location is on the interior of the helm station along with the rest of the electronics and electrical equipm...

Re: Port windows

Follow up on the port holes. I decided to check the port hole screws and found that the screws on all of the port holes were loose. I then tighten them up. After two days of heavy wind blown rains the port holes did not leak. I plan on going back and remove the inside frame to dry out the space betw...

Port windows

I have several port hole type windows that leak in a heavy rain. It is leaking between the hull and frame. I removed the inside screws surrounding one of the port frame expecting the frame with the glass to easily detach from the hull, but apparently the outside frame are glued to the hull. Has anyo...

Re: Keel Crack

Based on my experience the interior of the keel is a green material. Not fiberglass. The covering is about one layer of glass. I decided to repair with epoxy and glass cloth.

4” boot stripe green vinyl tape

It seems the boat yard worker when pressure washing the boat tore up the boot stripe tape near the water line in several spots. (Boy do I hate to bring my boat to a boat yard!) Does anyone know of a source for the 4” green vinyl tape.

Keel Crack

On hauling out my boat I noticed vertical cracks on each keel about a foot from the leading edge. The keel at this point is about 3” high. Has anyone else experience this? I plan on grinding it down and do a cloth and epoxy repair. The keel do not appear to be a structural component. They look like ...

Re: Engine Exhaust

It is possible that the oil is leaking thru the valve guides and into the cylinders. Check to see if the valve guides were replaced. I have been told that the valve guides are the main source of oil leaks on the Yanmars 100s. I have written Yanmar on this when I bought my boat and they were pretty l...

Re: Engine Gauges analogue to digital conversion

UPDATE: I took the boat out and noticed that the rpm on the Noland converter would not go over 3000 rpm as displayed on the Axiom. I called Kevin at Noland and he said to connect the P minus 1 and 2 terminals to the ground terminal with a jumper. That solved the problem with the rpm reading. I also ...
