Re: Sealant / adheasive used at galley sinks

Had the same problem. Resealed with 5200, no further problem. Make sure you brace the sinks in place after applying adhesive and let it cure for a few days.

Re: wiring chase

On my boat, #64, the chase from the flybridge ends near where it intersects with cabin ceiling. The wiring from above then turns 90 degrees to the electrical panel enclosure. Mine may not be the same due to the fiberglass liner.

Re: saving fuel by going slow?

I think that probably the only way to check ii is an use exhaust temperature probe whict boat yards use whe re-powering to certify that the engine is installed per Yanmar specs. They usually run for a specified time at full throttle and compare this to factory limits.

Re: saving fuel by going slow?

Is It posssible that you are doing damage to (burning) valves when running on one engine with a high throttle seeting and rpm in the 25-2700 range because of high exhaust temp? As I recall Yanmar requires that props be pitched to let engines run at the 3800 rpm at full throttle to reduce the possibi...

Re: Bed Upgrade in Statroom

RE Mattress; I recently replaced the starboard mattress with a custom-made 7" memory foam mattress (3" memory foam laminated with 4" medium density foam). It isn't cheap at $680 but it's 100% better on my bad back and nealy as good as the TempurPedic I have at home. Florida Upholstery...

RE: Mooring Bridal: I have had no trouble with the stainless steel ring chaffing the line. The ring is 5/16" stainless with a Breaking Strenth of more than 6000#. The 1/2" anchor line 6800# BS, the snap hooks BS is 3300# each. The entire load is carried by the bridal, the anchor line is sl...

Re: Anchoring/Mooring Bridal

RE Pictured anchor bridal: The lines with shackles go to the bow cleats. The line on the ring is the anchor rode. As to anchoring on one hull, this did not work well for me probably because the Powercat has a lot more windage than the 36 and may "sail" more at anchor. Also with the windlas...

Re: Anchoring/Mooring Bridal

I use a 16ft bridal. If too long you can reduce the effectiveness and boat will "sail" more. Rather than using a rolling hitch, I use a stainless ring and shakles per attached photo.

Re: Sulfur smell in the fresh water/tank monitor that lies!

RE Tank Monitor: It sounds like wire is loose at control panel or tank probe (I had similar problem with holding tank monitor). It also possible, but not very probable, that the mid level probe is too long and extends to the bottom of the tank. Check wiring before messing with probe. Suggest you che...

Re: Holdling Tank Question

Had a similar problem of not being able to pump out and macerator blowing circuit breaker. After trying many of the soluitions suggested found the problem was thru hull was blocked after hard grounding on sandbar. Everything was fine after poking screw driver into opening from under water.
