I have two pdq 36's ( I know....)
This looks like the mast on the "Tall Rig" option model. They couldn't ship the full mast due to length and it would be spliced on site (I think James Power told me this).
Are you sure this isn't the tall rig?

Hi Terry, The Torqeedo 4.0 R would likely work. It's rated at about 9 hp, and the shaft is about 20". It's a bit expensive, at about 3K. But it would be nice and quiet. Regarding shaft length: I know that the Yamaha 9.9 everyone uses is the 25" shaft. But looking at mine, I think a 20"...

Correction: I meant that the distance from the transom clamp to the cavitation plate on the Yamaha is about 23". This is listed as 20.9 on the Tohatsu.

That's exactly what I use as well. I get about 1.5 times up the mast per charged battery. I may buy a second battery soon.

Thanks Chet, That makes more sense to me now. Anne Z is a 1996 model LRC, and has the center deck hatch. It also does not have inspection ports in the anchor lockers. So I guess that it probably has two small "dead spaces" on each side of the center locker. Probably worth putting inspectio...

Can you guys describe exactly which "dead spaces" you're referring to? I'm not sure I understand, and I'd like to take a look when I get a chance.

Hi Jim,
My sweet spot on the Excel is actually quite low. Both knobs are near the minimum setting. And like I said, I never add cold water to the hot at the faucet.
