ATN Topclimber Static Line and Spare Halyard or Sheet
Howdy, Cat's Meow came with some cool gear, like this old style ATN Topclimber. This version requires a separate 7/16 line long enough to reach the top of the mast. The pretty red with white speckled nylon braided line that was neatly stored in the Topclimber bag is 1/2 inch and barely long enough t...

Selden In-Boom Reefing
Okay folks, I've dutifully searched the forum for particulars on how to setup the reefing system. I have seen the page in the owner's manual. (BTW...is that the best manual we have access to? Part of it mistakenly refers to the Antares 44!!) But, it is just a picture and the words refer you to the S...

Re: "stupid" newbie questions--threads
Hi Laura, The sending unit is in the fuel tank. Over-filling the tank such that the fuel is in the filler tube should not cause the sending unit to fail. If it did fail at that moment, it was going to fail imminently anyway. The only issue I know of would be the possibility of fuel pouring out of th...

Re: 2001 36 Galley Faucet?
Here is another similar model from Whale.

This one might be an easier direct fit replacement due to the match with the 15mm Whale tubing on board.

Re: 2001 36 Galley Faucet?
Brendan, This one was installed last year in July to replace the missing old one. The spread is about a half hole off in each direction. Be mindful of the thread and make sure you get the correct match. I think it was a Whale fitting with a British thread pattern. I'll take a pic of the inside cabin...

TW,
Tanx! Maybe this info should be in my engine thread, but it is perfectly welcome here! I will pick up the Biobor at Academy near me. Is the vent filter a DIY fabrication?

Re: Air Compressor On Board
Thanks Ron. I'm using canned air for clearing the jets currently, but I can definitely see the utility in that. Could you take a look at the Harbor Freight site and post a link to the compressor you had here. Would you mind if I peppered you with questions? I've got hull 86. There could be similarit...

Air Compressor On Board
I know, it's a performance sailing machine and thou shalt not impinge upon divine sailing characteristics of said vessel by filling with mancave toys, etc. in that the gods of nautical nuance shall look down their upturned probocis and turn the evil eye upon thee and flingeth considerable malfeasanc...

Re: Thelma and Louise Up To No Good
No love from Louise yet! I put the valve train back together and installed the head. That is when I noticed I did not know what the gear positions were for the timing belt replacement. The service manual I found (9.9, close enough?) gave the locations before installing the flywheel. Well, I never re...

Re: Thelma and Louise Up To No Good
Thanks for the heads up on the gummy balls. I have not used the main tank yet. I will open it up and inspect/clean it out first. The portable tanks are doing fine for me. They seem clean at the moment. My new neighbor pulled in bragging about his $18,000 fill up en-route to Corpus. I have yet to spe...

Re: Thelma and Louise Up To No Good
Well, some reasonable interval between next week and forever would be nice. Happily ever after is good too.
Crowley just shipped the parts, a week after ordering. I'll cross them off my list.

Re: Thelma and Louise Up To No Good
No lip. It is pretty smooth actually. Surprising.
It seems the parts situation is as good as it gets. That is one of the reasons I might go with a normal shaft Yammie.
One spare for three engines sounds good right now. Something to think about anyway.
Meanwhile I wait....
