Re: Prop Shaft/Seal
The new PPS Pro's have worked great so far - no drips. The weather from St Pete to Stuart was very calm, so I haven't hit rough water with them yet. The instructions said to expect a short break in period with some misting and graphite dust, but I did not get any of that. They worked great from the ...

Re: Prop Shaft/Seal
Hi BJ and John ! Last March, I installed new Tides seals, along with shaft service and engine alignment. The port seal worked ok - just a little water in the bilge at the end of the day. The starboard seal had more leakage. I just got new shafts and PSS Pro's. The PSS Pro's are overkill and were dif...

Re: Solar panel wiring
Hi Bryan ! The solar on Easy Riders was wired this way when I purchased her, and it seems to be working well: the positive and negative from the solar controller are wired directly to the house battery bank. The first photo is the house bank - 4 Trojan 6 volt wired to two 12v. The second photo shows...

Wiring to Windshield Wipers
Hull #29 came to me missing the windshield wipers and motors. I'm re-purposing the wiring for cabin fans. At the windshield wiper switches at the lower helm, I'm measuring 12 volts. I'm measuring 17 volts at the wires that served the wiper motors. I don't see any transformers on the wiring diagram, ...

Re: Replacement A/C Vents Air Conditioning
As a follow up to these - I decided to remove the dampers for better airflow. Conveniently, the dampers on most of them fell out on their own, so don't get these if you want dampering !

Re: Stern Anchor Setup
Hi Mark - I'm doing the same thing now.
I'm using a Fortress FX-11 as a stern anchor - really just used when anchoring stern in to the beacht when there's a current.
I've been thinking about mounting the anchor under the stern seat, with a hanging canvas bag under the seat to store the rode.

Replacement A/C Vents Air Conditioning
These air conditioning vents are available on zoro.com. Model 3840RWH grille with damper. Zoro # 0707.1400.
I had never heard of Zoro before, but they shipped the next day. When ordering, Zoro sent me a discount code for my first order. Cost worked out to about $10 each, including shipping.

Re: Engine Coolant Pump
I've got an intermittent coolant leak on the port engine (75 hp) and can't find it. The coincident environmental factors are: - the engine has been run to operating temperature - there is a storm (low barometric pressure?) - engine is shut down, and everything inspects ok - it gets cold during the n...

Re: Oil Cooler End Cap Connector Rubber Coupling
Following up on this - I ordered the parts Monday late afternoon. Tuesday morning at 10:30 am UK time, FedEx picked them up in a little town 50 miles south of London. They delivered to Coinjock at 2:00 pm Wednesday. The FedEx guys are earning their money ! I can see now why the part failed - the pip...

Re: Oil Cooler End Cap Connector Rubber Coupling
Lancing Marine's customer service has been outstanding, and it could not have been easier to order from them. When Adam quoted "about $25 USD each for 4" I did not realize that he had included Fedex shipping charges. This worked out to the same as I was quoted by Tradewinds - $22 each plus...

Re: Oil Cooler End Cap Connector Rubber Coupling
Thanks John - I appreciate the spares offer !
Great minds think alike - I'm working on a Frankenstein approach as a back-up. Also have the old part glued back together - waiting for it to set before doing the duct tape wrap.
Hopefully the new ones make it in reasonable time.
