Re: No cooling water at telltale and running hot.

Maybe clogged cooling lines or failed thermostat. Either way open up the thermostat housing and look at it. How often do you rinse the engine?

I think we've all done that at least once.

Re: No exhaust through prop hub

Pull and check the plates on the side that make up the exhaust/water mixer. I'm sure there's a technical term for it but I don't remember.
With the other issues maybe they didn't put the plates together right or missing gaskets?

Re: New Engine Replacement: I have extra wires...

The new engines, and some of the old ones, will charge through the main battery cables. Take the cover off the engine and trace the wires from the rectifier to the junction block at the same point as the battery cable.
They really make this easy.

Re: Core question

Should be solid below the waterline.
There were some variations in the hulls but I think this was universal.

Re: Solar panels

The other extreme is our floating power plant.

We went all solar as the wind generators don't seem to do as much long term. We have several in the garage we tried but the way we use the boat solar did a much better job. (30+ amp charge on a good day and when needed).

Re: Installing new engines and engine steering lock- tips?

My boat is just around the corner from yours. We're at waterline marina off the Eau Gallie river entrance. Sitting there sad and lonely while I work too much but if you need help I'lol do what I can. Thanks Tom! The main halyard through the hard top opening should work, and I can use a pool noodle f...

Re: Installing new engines and engine steering lock- tips?

Built in steering lock is good enough, no issues. For the lift I use the main halyard through the window in the hard top. Mine is a 32 but I've used this on other's 36's too. If you have the top only openings then cut a "pool noodle" down the side and place that over the edge while working...

Re: Radar Installation

Worst thing about pole mount is the forward blind spot created by the mast.
Worst thing about mast mount is the genoa hanging up on it when tacking.

Re: Radar Installation

Low power and a bit of distance. Not to worry.

In the Navy we used to walk around with fluorescent light tubes on deck and watch them light up from the exposure. (Only dimly as the 48e & 49 would swing by). And we all turned out (mostly) okay.

Thank you both for the offer to provide input. Truly helpful and gives me assurance that this community of owners is alive and well! I've contact Mr. Love and am waiting on some photos. He posted previously here that he replaced the mast. Is this typical as a correction to poor design or perhaps a ...

Cogniz, While I don't know each individual boat on the market I've spent quite a bit of time researching repairs and mods for the 32. I'll be happy to answer any questions you may have and if I don't know the answer maybe Drew (thinwater) will. He is literally writing the book on sailing and mainten...
