Re: Bent starboard rudder post.

Hey Tom

I don't have the answers to any of your questions but just wanted to say that we are sorry for your unfortunate luck. I hope you can remedy the situation quickly, easily and with out too much $$$.

Re: Asymetrical Spinnaker Rigging.

Good post Drew. Our rigging is similar although we attach the tack to a block which runs along the bridle line. This is the way our boat's PO taught us. I'm not sure it is better or worse.

Re: Water where it shouldn't be!

Hi Drew and Henry Thanks for the comments. Here is what we have determined: 1. A rag was stuck in the bow compartment drain hole. With the water we were taking over the bow I have little doubt that without a place for it to drain out, it could have accounted for the water by the through-hulls. 2. Th...

Water where it shouldn't be!

After a vigorous sail to windward yesterday, we found a significant amount of water where it shouldn't be. Our starboard bilge had about 4" of water in it. I am guessing (only guessing) that it has something to do with the shower sump. Any thoughts on this? Does the shower sump output have a 1-...

Re: Sailing without a motor

Not to hijack this thread but I wanted to comment on what Drew said about 2 engine failures. The only way I could see both engines dying at the same time would be a fuel related issue. Has anyone taken any steps to deal with that scenario? For example, a secondary fuel supply/filter.

I should mention that the LED replacement bulb from Victory caused MAJOR interference with both our VHF and SSB radios. As such, we went back to the original bulb.

Re: Mast Winch Size

I'm not sure if that is standard or not though. I read one boat's specs that had 1x32 and 1x16. Our boat came with 2x32s installed and we added the 2x16s behind them.

We converted the hanging locker in the port berth to a "pantry." Not all of our food is stored there but much of the dry goods are.

Re: Dog House

I hate to say it, but I got them at West Marine. Our friend paid for it with his port supply card so they didn't cost EXTRA stupid amounts of money. They were about 12 bucks each I think. There was a similar fixture made for biminis that sold for 50 bucks each!!!
