Re: PDQ 36 main sails

HI Sam;
We'll be at Eric and Bonnie's place for the cookout and are coming south to florida right after that. We'd be pleased to bring the sail to you that next week, wanted to meet you anyway and thank you for your help in our boat search.

Re: Cable lengths for new 9.9s

Thanks for your suggestion Colin. The engines are now finally in place and we'll definately coat the brackets well. I'm a little concerned about how deep they drop below the nacelle, but the reports on our forum suggest that may not be an issue. (Tom on Dream Catcher, if you read this, how are the h...

Definitely interested in what you find out too! Would you have to get an extension on your cruising permit?

Re: Original production run changes Question

Hi Matt; During the time I was researching PDQs I found an article that may answer some of your questions. Check out http://www.sailingmagazine.net/component/content/article/6-used-boat-notebook/538-pdq-36?directory=154 , especially under the subtitle "what to look for". I just remembered ...

Re: Canadian registration?

Hi Mike; Good luck!! Maybe you know someone that can help, but when I tried the same thing, everyone I talked to at Transport Canada was sympathetic, but no one would give an inch. In the end I had to hire a tonnage measurer in Florida to do the measurements and file it in Canada....very expensive!!...

Re: Canadian registration?

Hi Mike; I can answer your question because I've just finished the registration of our PDQ 36 "Windrush" (ne The Cats Aweigh) in Canada. Go to the Vessel Registration Query System page of Transport Canada http://wwwapps.tc.gc.ca/Saf-Sec-Sur/4/vrqs-srib/m.aspx?lang=e, then go to the "a...

Cable lengths for new 9.9s

Hi folks; Hope you don't mind me picking your brain. We've recently purchased a PDQ 36 from Rick Kilmer (The Cat's Aweigh - 36074) and while she's being stored until we can get come down to sail her away, I've decided to replace the old 9.9s with the new 9.9s from Yamaha. Because we're not down ther...

Re: TV install

Sam, I like your setup, do you think you could use a 20" or 24" iMac instead of the TV? Would weight be an issue, and what about the effects on the compass?

Re: Surveyor recommendations Florida west coast

Hi Bill. We've done very well I believe. The surveyor gave "The Cat's Aweigh" a very clean bill of health, we had an exciting sea trial, and now finally the closing is tomorrow. Rick and Pam Kilmer and their broker Gary (Sarasota Yachts), have made this an almost painless experience and I ...

Thanks for your input. The boatUS website was where we went to start our search and ended up choosing Adrian Volney after several recommendations. All the best....

Surveyor recommendations Florida west coast

After following this forum for so many years, it seems we may be owning our own PDQ very soon! If the negotiations go well we'll be needing a surveyor before the purchase is finalized. At the moment the boat is on the west coast of Florida and I'm hoping for some advice or recommendations on a surve...
