Back Into Slip - Why - Exhaust Loop

I often wondered why the Previous Owner's workbook from PDQ University for the On Water session had "BACK INTO A SLIP WHENEVER POSSIBLE". In addition to putting in all Caps, it had also been highlighted. I may be wrong, but I think I have the answer. In high winds storm water was pushed in...

Re: Compression post seal

I did not drill a hole in the mast. I drilled a hole in the cast base that the mast sits on. I was only 1/4 inch, just enough to let water drain out.

Re: Compression post seal

In the cast base I drilled a hole in Hull #3 to let any standing water inside the mast at the cast base run out. Did not have any leaks inside after that.

Water in engine from injection point for Dripless Seals

I am interested in the various locations that PDQ used for the water injection system for the Tides Seals. Mine is below the anti-siphon tube but on the Exhaust side. After getting water in Starboard engine, I started checking my "piddle" tube every outing, thus I know it is not the culpri...

Re: “Bunking a PDQ Altar supported only by supports under the Br

When I owned PDQ32 hull number 3, we used a flatbed trailer to move it into storage and back out for 12 years. Used jackstands under carbon fiber cross beam (12 inches back from start of non-skid) and rear bulkhead (start of non-skid). It was never on the trailer for more than 1 hour each time. Did ...

Re: water backup into diesels - it happens

Had marina do my impeller change out. Since I have a canvas cover on the upper station the starboard throttle does not move unless cover is off (it binds the throttle). Mechanic did not know the cause so he just started the engine and ran at idle until water came out the exhaust and shut back down (...

Re: Compression post seal

I can't help with sealing the compression post, but on my 32003 I found that moisture was caused by water collecting in the base of the mast step. I drilled a hole to drain water the collected in the mast base and solved the moisture problem I had that occurred from time to time.

Re: Need Your Help Please

I had the factory ship my 32 from Whitby to Georgian Bay in 1995. Can't help you with the heights, but they did take the hardtop off to reduce the chance of the wind getting under it and wanting to lift it off. The trucker had a low boy, he put huge wood beams crosswise and set the boat keels on the...

Re: Holding tank questions

External tank monitors work just fine. I installed a gauge SeeLevel II that is used in RV applications. They are sold by Garnet Technologies. http://www.rvgauge.com My tank was longer than their gauge so I don't get a reading for the first 25 percent, but that's fine with me. Also used the second un...

Trampolines - Triton Sails

I worked with Ron at Triton Sails last fall for my PDQ 32. He has the templates to match it perfectly. I'm very pleased with it.

If I run engines at full throttle, I burn 1.7 gals/hour and cruise at 7 knots in reasonable seas. This burn rate has been pretty consistent over the past 10 years.

Mine was designed and installed by Boat Tailors in Racine, WI. They did a very nice job. If someone wants pictures, just contact me.
