Re: Engine alternators not charging house batteries
Just an update from the Abacos. I took some time off from the sun and fun this morning and installed the new 200 amp battery combiner. Happy to report all battery banks are now charging properly - from the alternators as well as shore power. I want to thank everyone that contributed advice - not onl...

Pathmaker Battery Combiner
Just wanted to let everyone know that Xantrex has discontinued manufacturing the Pathmaker battery combiner - both the 100 amp and 250 amp models. I had a very difficult time finding a replacement for ours. If you google them, a lot show up. I called listings for hours. Thanks to a post from Mary an...

Re: Engine alternators not charging house batteries
Mary & Roger,
How did you know you had to replace your combiner. Was anything failing or obvious?

Re: Replacing the Flybridge Helmchair?
I put in a Stidd chair. Very comfy and adjustable. Larger pedestal base required redrilling through hole bolts and resealing old. Just had to drop the center ceiling panel in the salon. Fairly easy job. The added weight was well worth the comfort. My arms fold out of the way, I have an adjustable fo...

Re: Engine alternators not charging house batteries
I'll give it a try when I get back to Marsh! It is strange that everything works perfectly with a 110 source. I'm still not convinced my alternators are working. My starting batteries are probably recharging when I have to start the generator! I may bring one spare alternater back with me just in ca...

Engine alternators not charging house batteries
Our engine alternators are not charging the house bank. When we are running without the generator, the battery voltage drops. There are no positive amps replenishing the batteries. Even when I first start the engines. zero plus amps shows on the meter.. After about 8 hours into our crossing to the B...

Re: engine overheating (cont)
How many hours since last heat exchanger "boiling"; and if it was never done, how many hours were on your engines? Thanks for the useful info!

Re: Boat lift for Powercat 34
Jimmy,
I would be happy to talk with you about your lift. I live in NE Florida and would be installing the lift at my house. If you can send photos and details I would greatly appreciate it.

Boat lift for Powercat 34
Does anyone have any experience or suggestions for a boat lift system for a Powercat 34? I live in an active wake area and think the boat would be better protected out of the water. I understand a few owners have used cradle lifts. I was wondering what brand and how you set up the bed or cradle area...
