Re: A/C on a 32
Hey Sam, the 36 mast load is suported by the plywood bulkhead that separates the salon / forward cabins. The wood box on the aft side adds suport and a place to run wiring. By removing the box cover and the small vinyl covered cieling panel, you can check to make sure the filler material between the...

Re: Water pressure and the water filter
Hey Ross, if the head fills up whenever the pump is on, check the toilet solenoid. It is located under the sink on the aft wall, or behind the cabinets inspection port. The soleniod will have a pipe in and out of it and 2 wires conected to it. Take the solenoid apart and remove the debris that is pr...

Try new line, it wont be U.V. weakened, discoloured, or have set turns in it, and much easier to work with.

Re: Emergency Bilge Pumps
I have had the " cool " experience of using the engine raw water pump to pump out a flooding hull. At higher RPM's, it does O.K. I agree with Sharon, watch out for the debris. A mobile pump makes sence, since it can be deployed anywhere in your vessel, or someone elses. Its great to see Sh...

thank you Sam and Gina ! !
I started checking out the PDQ forum a couple of months ago, and was verry impressed with what I saw. Actual owners, working thru, actual problems. Its a great learning device. I would like to thank Sam and Gina for putting this all together for us! The next time we are near " Dragon Point &quo...

Re: Fuel Transfer
If reversing the pump a couple of times fails to prime it, try filling the forward tank carefully to deck level and transfer fuel AFT. This is how we primed them during comissioning. When the pump primes you can hear it slow down. Try not to drain the forward tank, as this will allow the pump to suc...

Re: fuel warning light
One problem with disconecting the water alarm is that you no longer have that feature. I jumped on a boat to run it to the Miami show and the alarm went off. I figured it was a false alarm, but returned to the dock to make sure. The aft fuel tank was topped up with water when the boat was left. If d...

Re: MV 41 Davit Replacement
I know of two 41's that had davit problems. In both cases the davit fasteners pulled thru the deck. The thickness of the glass in the mount area seems to be a little on the thin side and inconsistant from one boat to another. Dick Tuschick had some new mounting plates fabricated that transfers some ...

Re: Sliding Window Pull Handle
The early mv's had bomon windows. They were replaced with bomar and then diamond seaglaze at the end. If you look in the corner of the window there should be a manufacturer sticker. I think moonstruck has bomars. Try calling their warranty department, mention its on a pdq and send a picture of the w...

Re: 2nd Shur Flo Pressure H2O pump failure
Hi Ross, hope all is well. When your pump is running, try turning the black knob on top of the water filter to the bypass setting. If the pump speeds up then the filter probably needs replacing. Make sure the tank vent line is clear also. Hope this helps... James

Re: Sliding Door Leak
Hey Duetto, you might as well run a bead of sealant up the edge. It cant hurt. Make sure the lower joint gets a good seal. If you have had the lower track cover off, removing the door isn't difficult. Grab the door by the outside handle and lift up and out. Its got a bit of weight, so be prepared. W...

Re: Sliding Door Leak
The problem with the lower starboard corner is with the door frame. The joint where the vertical frame meets the horizontal track / threshold has to be caulked. Look at the attached photo, (hopefully it went thru), then see if your is. There should be caulk around the joint and extend up 1 1/2 inche...
