Re: 2nd Shur Flo Pressure H2O pump failure

Hi Ross, we met briefly in Annapolis Harbor last fall when Heidi and I dinghied over and said hello as you were heading south. Anyway, your pump issue seems very odd. When the pump is working, does it run normally or for a prolonged period of time? Could there be a blockage or kink in the feed line ...

Ross, I believe our 34 has the plastic ledge (white). It does just fine as I have been on it, rough housing with my teen son, no problem. We have had two people sleep there just fine. I would be more concerned with the table strength than the lip in question. I agree, it should be fine. Regards, San...

It is understood that Pearson is not PDQ Yachts Inc.. However Pearson has a strong reputation for building a quality boat. With their craftsmen and capitol they just might do a excellent job of creating a line of powercats that many will injoy. I can understand the concern of any original PDQ employ...

Lower Helm Steering Wheel Shaft Size?

Interested in purchasing and installing a new steering wheel at my lower helm station and wonder what size the shaft is. I am looking for a new wheel with a bit of "Character". Anyone know of a good web site for boat wheels? Thanks Sandy Kramer MISHIGAS MV3468

Yes Phenix, You need to apply those products after you sand the props and rudders. This helps the product to bond with the metal. I will not do this every year but will see how it holds up on year two as it looks like most of the product is still intact. I also think Pettit or one of the other major...

Anti Fouling on my running Gear...

I just wanted to report on a product that I used last season that worked well for me. PropSpeed is the name (I have no connection) and I applied this product to my Rudders and Props last spring and I just pulled the boat with very good results for the Chesapeake Bay. I had only a few small barnacles...

Nice work Sam, glad to see the site up and running. This forum is a great place for all of us to help each other out with any PDQ issues. We have to depend on each other now that PDQ is not in place anymore. Has anyone heard anything new about PDQ and their situation? Their Web site is still operati...

Salwa, nice to see you are still maintaining the forum and thank you for doing so. As a proud PDQ yacht owner and a friend of PDQ, Heidi and I were very saddened with the news of the PDQ closure. We sincerely hope that Rob and the investors can structure a deal to keep the company in operation. I am...

We are going thru the same issue with our Nova Kool unit. It works occasionally. Had the electrician and the fridge folks on board and they can't pin it down. Sounds like it's time to try a new control board.

Towing a dinghy...

Question for the group, occasionally I will reposition from one anchorage to another and would rather just tow my dink then load her on the davits. I understand that I will need to reduce my speed but how do you rig the dinghy to do this safetly. I have a 10' AB RIB with outboard attached. Please ad...

My Jabsco Silent flush is not so silent anymore...

OK here is the situation with my head. 3 year old fixture using fresh water to flush. Holding Tank is empty and when flushing you get a loud (much louder than normal) sound of the macerator and at the end of the cycle it wants to send a small tornado of liquid about 5" high. It still works and ...

Henry, I did a similar mod last season. I also have a Raymarine DSM 300 but asdded a stand alone Raymarine Depth Sounder for the Starboard Hull. Also installed the transducer under the head sole with the reader on the flybridge. It is nice to have redundancy and be able to get a read on which side o...

Hi Henry, Thanks for the heads up on the PDQ review. I read it and it was pretty much on point. I have the 75 Yanmars so my experience regarding performance is a tad slower of course. The space between the forward windows can be a minor inconvience however if you loose sight of something it just tak...
