Okeechobee
Roger, The bridge is supposed to be controlled at 49'. We came through in April and clinked our antennae (50'), but tha mast cleared easily. We called the corps of engineers before we started across to verify normal lake levels. We have not had any significant rain since Wilma so I suspect they will...

Washers
Boat manufacturers don't put automotive type systems onboard because extended exposure to salt spray would empty a washer tank in little or no time, not to mention the corrosion factor. If you can spare the freshwater you may be able to pump from your water tank to a spray nozzle above the windscree...

Bench Seat
Ed,
What a great idea. I love this forum just for this reason. PDQ'rs are such great inventors that when one of us lacks an idea (myself included) others step up to the plate with great innovations. I might even try your bench seat idea myself.

Add on
We would have liked to added a bench too (hull #40), but the traveler on the older boats prevent that. The new boats have a hardtop where the traveer is mounted, but it is a strong structural component, which cannot be easily retrofitted. We opted for an arch to use as a dinghy lift and a mount for ...

We lift in front of the skeg and behind the keel (we have an LRC also). The front strap should be about a foot in front of the keel so that it doesn't damage your transducers. You can locate the tranducers in the starboard locker and mark the point on the toerail where the back of the strap should g...

Marinas
Dan, We had a wonderful time at Harborview in Baltimore. It was a downtown location, but the marina was filled with world class sailors and liveaboards, and had great access to restuarants and shoppimg, and surprisingly the local sailing was good. Rates were resonable for a cat. Bonnie and Roger For...

LRC
Bob, Bob Stein and I own a 1994 LRC, Hull # 40. 1. Our boat does not have a pump for the refrig. The AC pump would depend on the maufacturer and size of the AC unit, and most likely is generic. The factory is most helpful with these sorts of things, since we have a strong owners association. 2. Don'...

Second Wind uses a combination of wind generator and solar panels. I have 220-240 watts of solar panels which seem adequate for continuous operation of the fridge, plus other carefully monitored systems, icluding the stereo, video & TV and some lights. The wind generator (Fourwinds) keeps the ba...
