Thus, I'm removing the wind generator. The other reason is that I recently had an arch installed on the stern,...

2006 9.9 Honda long shaft

2006 Honda 9.9 long-shaft, electric start, remore controls, less than 10 hours on it, fresh water only. 4-stroke. The motor is the high-thrust version so it would be great for as a kicker the back of a sailboat, but not so much for a dinghy. So if you guys have any friends in need of a new engine fo...

SSB rope antenna info

My rigger Rick Zarn (Pensacola) recommended using a specially designed rope antenna in lieu of modifying a backstay for use as an SSB antenna. He said it worked much better plus would be a lot cheaper. The website for the rope antenna is: http://www.ropeantenna.com/ phone: 954-815-8411 The guy that ...

Autopilot replacement

Has anyone tried a different brand autopilot than the ones made by Raytheon? Over the years and several boats, I've had to replace control heads so many times I've lost track. Sick of'm.

Practical Sailor, a publication like Consumer Reports, has been running a series of tests on various brands of bottom paint. If you don't subscribe to this rag, you can go to their website and purchase specific reports for a nominal cost.

Good luck, Ed

Stiff steering wheel

My wheel has become very stiff, and lub doesn't seem to help. Has anyone replaced the steering system? I read somewhere that PDQ switched to a different system in later models. Does anyone know what it is?
