Hi everyone,
I would like to order a new propane solenoid valve and wondered if the pipe thread size is 1/4" or 3/8", also tips on whom to order from. Thanks, Jim

Waste tank
Hi all, I have a few questions regarding the waste holding tank. If I'm not mistaken the tank capacity is 35 gallons. Are there any indicators of when the tank is nearing full or has become full other than possible smell? If I wanted to manually pump overboard and of course was within the legal dump...

Re: Excel hot water heater
Thanks for the posts everyone and as it turns out the guy at the propane store thought I was going to be using a full size stove and hot water heater and recommended that I use two different tanks and regulators until I brought the small Excel hot water unit down to him and then he said it was no pr...

Re: Excel hot water heater
Thanks James, so what I'm hearing is that you can just "T" off of the galley propane bottle and run a line over to the shower for the hot water heater using the same regulator......this seems to be the general consensus.

Re: Excel hot water heater
Eric, Thanks for the quick reply and I read Ray Reuter's article and Phil Mcgovern asked the same question about wether or not you could tee off of the propane bottle that supplies the stove yet no one replied. I'm hoping someone out there has run into this problem. If I have to run a separate bottl...

Excel hot water heater
Hi all, I'm trying to install an Excel water heater and would like to Tee off of the 20 lb. tank in the aft port locker that supplies the range or cook top in the galley. I was told by someone that the regulator going to the cook top was high pressure and that this would not work for the water heate...

Tom, I too enjoy your blog and the service provider is not the only one suffering a meltdown whenever your site is not accessible. Speaking of service providers, I guess we can assume that yours will be getting a "sucks ass" review in the ratings column.

Glad to hear the new sails are working out, I know they must have put a dent in your wallet. What great timing for sailing the bay considering the heat wave coming your way and it sounds like your funometer was pegged. I wish we could have cruised with you and maybe we will in the future.

Re: hand pump
Hey Eric, All is well on the Western front. I ordered the part from Defender and will replace the seal and diaphragm, (thanks Ron). Anyway am curious if you have replaced your fresh water pump for better water pressure in the shower. I'm not sure if the size of the pump (GPM) comes into play here or...

Re: hand pump
I don't have any problem with the head, its the hand pump or diaphragm pump used to discharge waste overboard that is located in the aft starboard storage locker.
