Re: Life Line Replacement
We replaced the lifelines with new stainless steel. Sent to a rigging company and installed ourselves. I labeled all the lines before taking them off and also measured there length and made a cheat sheet which was needed for the installation of the new ones.
They look great!

PORT ENGINE IDLE TEMPERATURE
With both engines initial start up and at idle the port engine goes to 120 degrees and stays there while the starboard stays around 75. At WOT both engines stay at 175. I undersand the thermostats at these temperatures are closed so there is no raw water cooling in effect. Both engines anti freeze l...

Re: Engine overheating
No leaking. The inside of the cap is split in half...the gasket covers the outside perimeter and across the center diameter. Top half of the cover is the input water to the heat exchanger, bottom half is the output of the heat exchanger. If the inner gasket is not on correctly then the back pressure...

Re: Engine overheating
I am battling a similar problem...except one of my engines runs 15 degrees hotter all the time. I did have a situation 2 years ago where the engine only overheated at wot and went back to 175 when reducing the throttle. I found the rear raw water cooler cap where the raw water enters the heat exchan...

Re: Manasquan to NYC: what acceptable sea conditions for a PDQ 34?
We did this trip last year on the way home to Long Island, NY. 15 - 20 knots, 3 - 4 foot waves. Stayed at the lower helm. Was not the smoothest ride...... but I kept reminding my wife ( and myself) the boat will handle the conditions it's the crew that can't! After 4.5 Hours headed into Jones Beach ...

We are getting ready to change the colors of our Bimini's from teal to ...something in the tan beige family. What do you have?
We want to change our boot line and pin stripes also...what color do you have to go with your tan beige top?
Thanks...

Re: Engine overheating
You can do a overnight "pickle" with barnacle buster to clean out the raw water systems.this will be easier ire than taking apart the heat exchanger. Also check the sea strainer for some clogging.
