Motor will start and run smoothly after consideable carb cleaning but will only do so with the cowling off. Put it on and it slowly starves and quits.
Any suggestions?

I had a wee mishap with my compass last year, my fault, and need to replace the fluid but I don't know what that is. I have tried some mineral oil but the compass settling time is huge. So if anyone has the knowledge I'd appreciate some of it.

I keep mine in the starboard seat locker. It must be removed to run it. When I'm cruising it sits out all of the time either in the stbd quarter or in the cockpit until I'm to make a passage.

I'm away from the boat and am trying to determine which boom size I have.
If anyone has this info I'd appreciate height and width of the crossection.
