We had the port engine running around 190 at one point. I took the heat exchanger out and cleaned it. That fixed the problem. It is not a difficult job.

Re: Hull Parts, Bow Cap and Spray Deflector
We had someone bump us in a marina and damaged one of the bow caps the other one had a scrape on it. We had them both repaired and painted. They came out great.

Re: Prop Shaft/Seal
We have had PSS seals for about 5 years. We got tired of replacing the tides seals due to leakage. We had the shafts pulled last spring to have them checked and put new PSS seals on while everything was apart. They were not leaking.

Re: Boat Wrap Instead of Paint
I hate to be the negative guy but here goes. We looked into wrap versus paint about 2.5 years ago. The wraps are a good alternative and much cheaper. We wanted the hull done, the flybridge outside and inside and inside the hull steps. Basically everything but the deck which could not be wrapped. The...

Re: Storage around lower helm seat
I forgot to mention in my last post, I sit on a 3 inch throw cushion for better visibility when driving from the lower station. Raising the helm might be worth considering. We would leave the seat adjuster in place if we do raise it. Adjusting the seat gives me storage space for a flybridge table, t...

Mac,
My mistake entirely, I thought you were talking about the portlight windows on the side of the boat.

Re: Berth porthole arms
I may not have been clear in my explanation. On the window end of the three black twist handles, there is an adjustment screw.

Re: Berth porthole arms
Mac, To answer your question directly, no. One thing that may help though is there are adjustment screws on the arm of the open and closing levers. I only discovered them recently. There are little round balls on the window side of the lever. The end that touches the window. They adjust in and out w...

Re: Storage around lower helm seat
We have had the boat 6.5 years and only driven from the lower station in fairly heavy rains storms, until recently. On our trip Florida to the Chesapeake in the spring, between the wind and cold, we spent about 12 hours driving from the lower station. Once you get used to it, it is not bad. We will ...

Re: Collar Around Port Shaft - Can You Identify This ??
Mike, This is a guess and only a guess. It looks like there is some nylon line hanging on the outside of it. It is possible that it all started out as a line wrapped around the shaft and as the prop shaft spun while you were trying to get free, it may have heat up and melted and then cooled to a har...

Re: Tightening Alternator Belt
Mac, I am like the mechanics you have talked to. I have done most of my maintenance on cars and boats since I was a teenager. I have never used a belt tensioning tool. On my boat, I loosen both bolts on the alternator, push the alternator with one hand very tight and tighten the top bolt with the ot...

Re: Replace aft air conditioner
We had both our units replaced about 4 years ago by James Power. We used a Dometic DTU8, 8,000 BTU in the aft. James has installed a number of new units and he told me he was putting a spacer under one end to angle the unit to drain better. He said they all need it. We used a Dometic DTU16 forward. ...

Re: Power Issue
Nick, Yes, I did install the new one on in the starboard side locker near the bed where the Prosine was. The Magnum was also much heavier than the Prosine which was mounted with screws to the ceiling of the locker. I didn’t think that was sufficient for the heavier Magnum so I took out the helm seat...

Re: tach guages
Mac, I think Doug's explanation covered your question but, I do not have traditional gauges on the flybridge. The oil, temp and tach data is fed into a page you set up on the chartplotter. I have both a separate page for engine data and a split page with engine data and a navigation map sharing on a...
