Re: Fuel Pickups
Yeah I had the problem of stainless screens clogging on a sailboat. On my PDQ the pickup there is no screen only a miter cut at the bottom to be able draw out the dregs. It nearly touches the tank bottom as this is the generator fuel pickup I would like to replace.

Fuel Pickups
In my 2002 build year boat I have some type of 1/2" plastic hose (currently a bit stiff/rigid) used for the fuel pickups in both forward and aft tanks. Does anyone have a clue as to what type of material it is and where it can be sourced. My local marine shop in San Diego, San Diego Marine Exch...

Getting off the boat
My normal routine at my home slip is to let a line handler get off the boat from the swim step and then tie the lines. What devices, fender with steps/temporary flexible steps have other owners used to get to the dock from the boat when the boat can't be maneuvered to get to the dock from the swim s...

Salon Berth Filler Cushion
Once again I did a search and didn't quite find the answer to this question. I bought my boat used and did not get a filler cushion for the convertible berth in the salon. My boat is an early build with the salon style with the "hard" corners. (Galley sink inboard). What do the filler cush...

Documentation number placard
I did a word search on the forum first and didn't find any suggestions so now I will post the question. After 5 years or so of owning my boat I have not found a documentation number board on my boat. The classic carving the number in the "main" beam is not what I think will work. Question ...

Re: flybridge steps?
I also have a 2002 build year boat with the teak steps. I got a price from a local plastics shop to replace with starboard however I had some concerns about the structure. I have convinced myself from looking at photos on yachtworld that later year boats have additional tube under the step. What thi...

Re: Retrofitting Nothern Lights Generator
First thank you so much for the reply as it provided valuable information. Second let me emphasize that I mean my next comment in the very best of ways. You sound like my Dad with the question about why I want to convert. I guess I am just frustrated with my Entec. It has about 420 hours and a numbe...

Retrofitting Nothern Lights Generator
I have a 2002 build year which has a Entec West 4200D gen set. I am considering replacement with a Northern Lights 5KW unit which the later model boats all seem to have. The Entec is installed in the port bow compartment. Not having seen the installation on other boats as my boat is in San Diego I h...

Re: Transom shower
Based on your hull number you may have the scanvik shower which has the single lever flow control/temp mixing valve. The valve on my boat turns water on by lifting up. Also the shower head itself has a flow control button on the rear of the shower head/handle which is a complere off/on valve. Must p...

On Engine Fuel Filters
Has anyone found a fuel filter replacement from Fram or Wix for their on engine filter. Barring that has anyone located an internet seller of the yanmar filter which would save a couple of bucks.
Thank you
Thank you

Re: Newbies seeking Guidance
OK just being inquisitive. The initial post had this line---Our engines are 75 HP, installed in 2008-- which I took to mean new engines were put in the boat in 2008. The boat based on hull number is an earlier build so that means new engines. So i reiterate my two questions. What caused the need for...

Re: Newbies seeking Guidance
Newbies aren't the only owners that need help. I have owned my boat for 5 years and am baffled by the reference to the power assist unit on the starboard gear shift. Apparently i am not having a problem with mine because I have not noticed a problem. Do I even have this system. Also curious as to wh...
