Water pressure and the water filter

So, Vita Bella is making her way from San Diego to San Francisco Bay and there is yet another problem with the pressure water system. Kurt Jerman, the new California PDQ dealer is bringing her North. They have made Santa Barbara this afternoon and when they were getting settled, the pressure water p...

Re: 2nd Tide Marine Shaft seal

Thanks, now at least I know that I am in good company!. The 2nd seal failed at exactly the same spot, right by the cooling water nipple. If this happens again, I too will have the shaft checked. Hopefully the shaft alignment will do the trick.

Again, Thanks for the reply.

2nd Tide Marine Shaft seal

Today I had to have the 2nd Port shaft seal installed. James Power did the first job in Catskill, NY while we were making our way to Florida, and the darn thing had to be swapped out again. The folks at Tide Marine were again very good about overnighting the part, but once again we had to have the s...

Photos of my East Coast trip Whitby to Key Largo

All of the photos of the trip last Fall are on my website, if anyone is interested. My site is http://www.rossbowling.com.

While I have some other photos there as well, the pics of the trip are broken out by the legs of the trip.

Re: Bed Upgrade in Statroom

S- When I took possession of the boat in Whitby, I immediately went to the bedding store and purchased memory foam pads. These babys really made the bed better, I share a back problem, but ;bought the pads as a comfort thing. They add some 2" to the mattress and I have no problems. You might al...

Re: Sulfur smell in the fresh water/tank monitor that lies!

S- The smell is from both the hot and the cold side. I am hopeful that with several "flushings" we will get the smell out of the system. The water that pumped out of the system just before the tank ran dry was cloudy and had lots of suspended particles. Once the tank was refilled, the wate...

Re: Forward Compartment Access

Tom I am a big guy and am able to drop myself into the starboard locker with out much of a problem. Coming out I use the shelf as a assist with one of my feet and raise myself up. I thnk that once you do it a few times, you will find it not to difficult. On our trip down the East Coast we stored lug...

Sulfur smell in the fresh water/tank monitor that lies!

I have moved Vita Bella from Ensenada Mexico to San Diego. While we were preparing to move the boat, we ran the fresh water and a strong sulfur smell was present. I ran the tank dry and that added another situation. The tank monitors showed 1/4 tank of water and the system was only pumping air. I ad...

Re: 2nd Shur Flo Pressure H2O pump failure

I will be on the boat this next week and will check the filter. Thanks for the idea and I will be posting a result. The Newport to Ensenada race is next weekend, and I will be bringing Vita Bella from Ensenada to San Diego on April 28th. We will keep her in San Diego for a couple of weeks and then w...

New West Coast PDQ Dealer

I have heard that West Coast Multihulls has been awarded the Southern California Dealership for PDQ Powercats! Kurt Jerman is the Broker and he can be reached at 619-571-3513. He is a good guy and should be a good resource for West Coast Owners! :D

Re: 2nd Shur Flo Pressure H2O pump failure

Sandy, Yes I remember our meeting while we were tied up at AYC. When we left the factory, the pump seemed to cycle at odd intervals, finally giving up the ghost in Daytona Beach Florida. James Powers thought the pump may have had some grit or dirt in the diaphragm, but we replaced the unit. The repla...

Upon arrival in Ensenada from Florida aboard Yacht Path, I have found that the Fresh Water Pressure Pump had failed AGAIN. 2nd failure since I left the factory in October '07. The pump gets very hot to the touch and when I cycle the switch on the breaker panel It will run for a short while then slow...
