Re: Chesapeake Marina Haul Out/Store - PDQ 36

Before you commit to a place, go and measure the travelift, and slipway yourself. They never seem to get it right. Marc By the way....I've found that there is a "ruler" tool on Google earth that is not bad for measuring travel lifts. You can zoom in on your target marina, set the ruler to...

Re: Chesapeake Marina Haul Out/Store - PDQ 36

Those would be good options for me based on location.
I will check them out.
Thanks for helping narrow my search Marc...it is a big time saver.

Chesapeake Marina Haul Out/Store - PDQ 36

Hi All, I’m looking for recommendations on a marina for haul out and winter storage on the northern Chesapeake for my PDQ 36. My current marina cannot haul a cat due to width. I’d like to stay within reasonable driving distance so I can do some work on the boat while it is out. I live north of Balti...

Re: Fridge replacement

Well no simple fix here. Tested voltage at the input to the controller. With batteries on charge (shore power) 13.4 v. When the controller tries to start the compressor and beeps, voltage drops to 12.89v. Fridge circuit is drawing 6 amps when trying to start. Tried removing the fan and that had no e...

Re: On our way south

I'm seeing reports of increasing surf due to the approach of Hurricane Danielle.

What are you seeing out there?

Re: Fridge replacement

This has turned out to be a great resource....thanks all. I plan to do some more troubleshooting this weekend. I hope it turns out to be a bad fan. I will check voltage as well and see what is going on there. I installed new batteries in February this year so I'm hopeful that is not the issue. If it...

Re: Fridge replacement

OK I got down to the boat this evening for a quick look at the fridge compressor. It is an older Danfoss BD 2.5. I am having troulble reading the number on the controller. It is faded but I think i can read it with a magnifier....next time. The unit as a whole is a Nova Kool LT200. I did some more d...

Re: Fridge replacement

Pretty sure it is a danfoss but I can't put my hands on the photos I took of the model plate.
I will repost when I get down to the boat tomorrow and get specific info.

Thanks,
Spencer

Re: Fridge replacement

Having repaired my reefer a few times....if the Nova Kool uses a 12vdc Danfoss compressor, it's probably not dead. They are very durable units. There are quite a few things that will stop the compressor from starting, almost all are easily corrected. That's encouraging..... When I flip on the break...

Fridge replacement

Fridge is dead on 1993 PDQ 36. I tried recharging the system and that worked for a day or so but the compressor wont start now. It tries, but then overloads and shuts down... I have a Nova Kool and they sell a nice replacement unit but the price is giving me sticker shock. right around $1000 for a c...

Did the meet up happen last weekend?

We were not able to get out last weekend due to moving our son to his college.

Aha, so your the one reading along. I knew that had to be one of you out there. The site is back up, sort of. I had a major meltdown with my service provider and I am slowly getting my data back in order. The site is accessible now, but some parts have yet to be restored. regards, Tom 36041 http://...

Dreamcatcher Blog

Hey....... Over the past few days I have been unable to access the Dreamcatcher blog at http://www.theconchhorn.com/DreamCatcher/ I've been working my way through the archive that Tom and Amy have trying to catch up to where they are currently. Re: New Yamaha 9.9s installed

In the spirit of information sharing and trying to make sure we all are getting a fair shake......here's what I got. I had 2 new T9.9 GEXH Yamahas installed in my 1993 PDQ 36 back in March of this year 2010. Manufactured dates are 09/2007 and 03/2008 on the engines. I got a 3 year warrenty that ends...
