Replacing the Flybridge Helmchair?
Considering upgrading the factory installed single Todd Helmchair on my 05 Cat. Looking for sugestions, ideas and the like. Do you like your chair? Not interested in going double, just want a comfy stout chair that can mount on the post. Stidd is a bit out of my budget, but looking for a nice upgrad...

Re: Dripless shaft seals
OK, so my 2005 MV-34 has the "Blue Tides" dripless. No problems to date and I check it often. Is this something that I should be looking to replace in the near future. Anyone know what the expected life of these units is? I had James aboard this spring and no mention of any issues with thi...

Re: MOB retrieval on PDQ Powercat
The Davits on my Powercat don't swing and on my model (2005), they are not high enough to get anyone on aboard. I gather on some model PDQ's different situations exist but still looking for a solution. Thanks Sandy, Sandy K MV MISHIGAS

MOB retrieval on PDQ Powercat
After having some thought on how to pull a large, wet and exhausted MOB victim on board I thought I would ask my fellow cat owners how they plan to pull this off should the situation arise. My question is, you have the victim in the life sling at your aft transon steps but he/she is unable to climb ...

Re: Stiff Upper Helm Controls
Thanks Henry for documenting this repair. We all benefit from this knowledge. I agree that our engines can be accessed but there are a few spots that can be difficult to get to comfortably. I use a zip lock bag and a pad under the filter when changing the oil. Never had a big mess this way. Just cur...

Re: MV 34 - 4 blade props
Thanks Dick, keep me posted regarding the prop upgrade. If they offer one for the 75 hp engines, I would be interested. With the reduction in sound and vibe it certainly would be worth considering. Regards, Sandy Kramer MV MISHIGAS Hull 68

Re: Flushing the anchor locker, yes or no?
Hi Ross, if you are really wanting to clean things, you might want to pull your anchor line on the dock and clean the line as well. I have yet to clean my anchor locker but we most always use the fresh water washdown to clean things off when pulling anchor. I have not noticed any dirt coming out whe...

Re: Anyone going to the Annapolis boat show?
Heidi and I would love to hob-knob with our fellow PDQ bretheren. Thank you Eric and Bonnie for being so gracious. Our boat is moored just across the South River in Selby Bay so we would love to attend. Of course we will bring a side dish and are looking forward to meeting you all. Has a time been e...

Jabsco Quiet Flush Toilet Issue
The other day I noticed the Jabsco Electric toilet would not stop filling even after pushing the switch. :? Not sure if the problem is in the electrical switch or elseware. I turned the breaker to the water pump off and back on and that seemed to do the trick. This is the second time this has happen...

Propane Cooktop Issue Revisited
I know this was discussed a year or two ago but I am still struggling with this system. Last time on board we could not get the gas burner to recieve any gas flow. We tried all the tricks that used to work, tapping on solonoid valve in tank locker, working the wall switch several times above the sto...

Re: Cutting Board Question???
Thanks for that offer James but we actually thought of one more thing to try. If Starboard can be sanded and or polished, we will attempt to have the scratched surface sanded out. If that fails, I will contact you directly James. Thanks again, Signed:THE ADMIRAL[

Re: Port engine runs hotter than Starboard.
Just an update regarding my hot port engine. Pulled my Heat Exchangers last week and low and behold I had the dreaded black waxy buildup on the port main HE tubes. Sent them off to be cleaned at the radiator shop using ultrasound and a non caustic solution. Should be good as new when they come back....

Time for new House Batteries
My house bank is reaching 5 years and I don't want to tempt fate. Here is what I have on board originally installed by PDQ. Four US. Batteries # PS2200 Series 1200, Rating says 225 A/H and it also says Rating 115 RC. :?: I am not too up on battery technology but I know that my Xantrex Inverter Charg...
