Re: "Buggy" Fuel Problem
Update, Looks like the issue forced itself upon us... a few weeks ago we noticed a small sheen "near" our boat. Unfortunately for us it coincided with a large fuel oil leak at the nearby fish market (a crab steamer barge collapsed) - and all assumed the sheen was a remnent of the larger sp...

Re: Stern Extensions
John - aka Sam the Skull, Apparently we have mutual friends - Bill & Bess from S\V Alibi were over last night and were telling some of last seasons stories when Sam the Skull came up. I said that they had to be on a "stretch" PDQ, and they said of course. We've known Bess for a good ma...

Re: Torqeedo 4.0 electric outboards
Just saw your post, You would have to see what the manufacturer suggests and the warranty (duty cycle, salt water, open ocean use, etc...). I think they designed the 4.0's for commercial use, water taxi's and such, the 48 volt power supply stopped me. But you make a good point 2 of those with a Pand...

Re: Torqeedo 4.0 electric outboards
It actually works great for what we use it for, but for any distance that Yanmar is hard to beat. We have our battery bank in aft part of the Stbd. cockpit locker and a holding tank behind the head to offset the weight of the diesel.

Re: Torqeedo 4.0 electric outboards
II the Max was built with a single Yanmar diesel in the port hull which is perfect once under way - plenty of power and economical. On a calm day with a clean bottom we can do 6 kts burning about 1/2 gal per hour. But, maneuvering was another thing - the previous owner kept (Buckaroo then) on a moor...

91' PDQ 36 Galley Faucet - Brand? Parts?
I need to get a kit for our galley faucet, anyone know the brand and model used circa 91' (James?) It's a single lever style similar to this Scandvik http://www.scandvik.com/index.cfm/method/Shopping_Products/CatId/13/ID/75.htm It's starting to drip, so I need to get her repaired. I'm thinking I did...

Center \ Aft bilge pumps - anybody added them?
II the Max sits a bit stern heavy and we tend to get water sitting in the bilges on occasion (I know, fix the deck hatch cover seals - it's on the to-do list). Anyway I think part of this is do to the aft weight from the diesel on the port side and our battery bank mounted opposite in the cockpit lo...

You might give Bacon Sails in Annapolis a look or a call. Their not the best deal around but have a pretty decent inventory.

Re: Sailing Music
Ha ha... :D The rubber pads for the base of your speaker stand cost more than my Tascam unit... congrats that's a really great system. I'm in the stoneage in comparison (hopefully not for long). Apparently Cubase 4 has a lot of features over Audacity (including a steep learning curve). Looking frowa...

Re: Sailing Music
Sure no problem. I'll probably start playing around with it this weekend... Musicians Friend had the Tascam 122L unit on clearance for $49.99 with free shipping. It's been superceded with a newer model - the 122L works with Apple, XP, and Vista. http://tascam.com/product/us-122/overview/ I would thi...

Hey Thanks Sam, I'll definately bookmark it. If you get up to the Chesapeake we'll have to get together and play some tunes... I just bought a Tascam USB interface and am starting to learn about DAW recording \ mixing - total newbie - played around with Audacity a little, now I may graduate to Cubas...

Re: PDQ OWNERS GET TOGETHER IN ANNAPOLIS ?
All, Well we did the annual Boat Show get together on Selby Bay, it was small gathering this year but the weather was stellar and allowed us to party on the deck. We got to meet Spencer and Chris new PDQ owners from the Baltimore area. We understand that Sandy was double booked and couldn't make it ...
