Safely Across

All, For anybody who was wondering, Dream Catcher (36041) made it across the stream and is now resting peacefully at anchor off of Green Turtle in the Abacos. The crossing was great and we actually got to sail all the way over. The boat is holding up well and so is the crew. So far we have seen only...

Different Cable Lengths

All,

Not sure if it matters, but hull 36041 has 13' and 9' cables respectively. I have had to replace all 4 of them in the last 2 years. 14' and 10' might work as well or perhaps somewhere in the production line they changed sizes?

Dream Catcher is enroute

We are slowly working our way back south and are currently in Wrightsville Beach, NC waiting on weather. We are aiming to cross to the Abacos by November 1. See you down there.

My 2 cents worth

Loki has some good points. We had a choice between the two PDQ's sitting side by side when we bought ours. One was diesels and the other was outboards. Initially, I thought we wanted the diesels, but after thinking it through we opted for the outboards. We've been living aboard for 5 years and cruis...

Unfortunately, I can sit under the mast and watch it flex. This is definately the cause of our vibration down below.

Any other ideas?

Mast Vibration

Does anyone else get a lot of mast vibration inside the salon area? It only happens when we are at rest, not under load. It takes about 20 knots or so and it doesn't happen all the time, but every once in a while, the mast starts vibrating back and forth. I don't think the rig is loose and the mast ...

Block Rebuilds

All, Has anyone else had problems with the bearings in the Lewmar blocks? Over the last 10,000 miles we have had to rebuild every single block on board Dream Catcher. Initially, we tried to get replacement parts from Lewmar, but the cost was so out of whack we couldn't even begin to contemplate gett...

Solution

Thanks for the input guys. I disassembled the injector assembly and cleaned it up as well as soaked it over night in cleaner. When I put it back together it mysteriously started working correctly again. I think the problem was in the spring mechanism under the injector body. A little WD 40 probably ...

Idle Problems

All, One of my 2001, 9.9 Yammy's will no longer idle at a reasonable rpm. I have the idle screw backed all way out so that it is not even touching the armature, but yet the engine idles twice as fast as it should. Has this happened to you? Any ideas? All input is appreciated. Regards, Tom 36041 http...

My Opinion

All, Just my two cents worth..... We've been living aboard for 5 years and cruising for almost a year and I wouldn't want a hard top. In my humble opinion, the most important thing you can do with one of these girl's is keep her light. I've shared a mooring ball with two different hardtop PDQ 36's a...

Redoing the tube cabin sole

All, I don't know if anyone else has seen it, but I have been on several other cats at boat shows and what not and some of them (I remember the Voyager 440) had a floor surface that looked like black rubber. I want to say it looked something like those spray on truck bed liners, although softer. Doe...

Honda Generator

Not to be the dissenting voice, but: We have been 3 year live-aboards, and 4 month(now, and growing every day) cruisers and pound for pound, dollar for dollar, get more solar cells and go with the honda 1000. We have been out 15 weeks now, on the Bay, heading South, and between 250W solar and a KISS...
