Looking for a better way to secure anchor to roller.

Question for those in the know. My PDQ PC34 came with the Kingston roller and a push pin about 4" long to pin the anchor down. The problem with these pins is that the little spring loaded ball on the end constantly corrodes and requires us to use the channel locks to release it when anchoring. ...

Want to add a second / backup bilge pump per hull.

Now I understand the desire to keep a new boat cost down as low as possible but a second bilge pump should be "required" in a yacht such as this. PDQ....If your reading this....Add a second pump to each hull for the peace of mind. On a $300K plus yacht.....it's a no brainer. So I am thinki...

Bob, I agree with the "let some light in" solution if window covers is what you seek. I went about this from the inside with snap on fabric shades that are lined to filter out much of the sun but still filters in some light. We just unsnap the bottom and sides and roll it up from inside th...

John, interesting subject. I seem to remember the Yanmar guy saying something about not changing the filters too often due to the fact that they work more efficiently when they "load up" a bit. Where did you mount the Racor Gauges? Do they mount into the filter head somewhere or did you ne...

Dave, you got me thinking about that and did a bit if research. Check out this link, http://www.cdc.gov/nasd/docs/d000001-d000100/d000007/d000007.html It does in fact confirm that by "grounding" your boat you may attract a lightning strike but could avoid electrocution. Two years ago my co...

Dave, I think by doing that you potential have actually made your boat more of a "Lightning Target". Lightning is alway looking to go to ground. By dropping a ground (jumpers) into the water off your mast, you may get the strike instead of your neighbors. This subject has been discussed in...

Going off memory here but we had a similar problem. If I can remember correctly, you have to also depress the button down while you ignite the burner, not just ignite. Then continue to hold button for 10 seconds or so and you can let go.

OK, I have heard back from the folks at PSS Dripless and ZF transmissions so here is the deal. If you have an engine go down and need to run on one engine. it does not matter what gear the transmission is in. The prop will "free spin" as the transmission will not engage without engine / hy...

Tyger, My dinghy is the AB Ventus RIB. I think it's about 9 1/2' and I use a 15 hp Merc 2 stroke outboard. This combo weighs in about 200 lbs and works well for us. This combo will plane with 2 adults no problem, with 3 adults under calm conditions and with 4 she will get you there, just not on plan...
