salon windows
The time has come to replace the front salon windows. Looking back on related posts I see some folks used butyl tape and others Sikaflex 295UV. Did the folks using Sikaflex use the 205 Aktivator for the fiberglass and the 206 G&P for the window or did you just apply it without surface prep other...

Re: up the mast
I go 210 and when my wife tried to winch me up I noticed hairline cracks in the gelcoat at the base of the winch molding profile. This also happened on my previous PDQ as well. Anyone else notice this? I now have an ATN mast climber but with short legs it looks like a monkey changing a diaper when I...

Re: propane outboards
There is a "how to" discussion on the Honda generator newsgroup about converting them to propane. It is pretty straight forward so I wonder if any 4 stroke could be converted using the same parts. The advantage to conversion would be having the ability to burn both fuels. I'm still waiting...

small portlight gasket
I'm trying to find the gasket for the small portlights in the cabins and head. Bomar claims its not theirs and the Lewmar site doesn't have any portlights close to the measurements. It looks like the old design Lewmar Atlantic series re: the closure but it is different in detail. Has anyone replaced...

What did you cover your floors with? It does not look like replacing them is practical.

Re: fiberglass cracking under the settee
You might have a bigger problem than you think. I can tell you if you stand in the entrance opening and you get an outward rush of air from the cabin when you get each deck slam then you should check the tabbing of the forward bulkhead (under Mast) and thew fore and aft bulkhead between forward bert...

Re: Plexiglass fracturing
Sandy, did you have to have the curved ones heat shaped by the supplier or can they be cold bent? Also did you use Lexan (polycarbonate) or plexiglass?

I use white grease in a spray can to lube the cable. I try to do it 3-4 times a season.

tank sending units
Just received this info from Livorsi about a new line of sending units. I think I'm going to fit one in my water tank. I have used their pressure(?) sending unit in my diesel tank and it is reliable. http://www.livorsi.com/pdf/sfw_senders.pdf

Re: Stern Step Handrail
Do a search on the PDQ 36 section. I had one built by the company that did the original work. I sent them a profile of the transom with stud locations and when I received it the fit was spot on. I ended up installing a 4" deck plate on the second step riser to access the lower bolts. The stbd s...

Re: Dinghy davits dimensions?
I just got a quote on building an arch to hold solar panels and the dingy--- YIKES! $8800 plus installation for a simple 2 tube raked arch seems a little pricey to me. I seem to recall someone mentioning the bench seat purchased from the factory was about $1800 but it could have been a dream. Does a...

Thanks, Phil, I've changed out my 15 x 9 for 16 x 11. Big difference! I had to modify my skegs a bit to do it.
