Re: New Yamaha 9.9s installed
I am ordering two Yamaha 2009 T9.9 GPXR engines for our new 'Dream Catcher' PDQ32 Hull #17. I was going to order the manual tilt GEXH model but the dealer said the power tilt was $1000 cheaper due to all the extras required to convert the tiller to remote operation. I am concerning about the bracke...

Re: Need Slip - Chesapeake
Thanks for all the suggestions everyone.
I found a slip at Maryland Marina on Middle River.
Not bargain price but OK for this season and it looks like a nice, professional marina.
I will need to check Tidewater for haul out

Re: What are 9.9's worth?
Hi, I just picked up a nice 2001 low hour motor last Sat. Sorry. I paid $850, it's a tiller model, so I'll have to do some wiring to convert it to a remote start. I hope I did OK, time will tell I guess. Thanks, Marc Glad to hear you found something Marc. Thanks for sharing what you paid. It's more...

Re: What are 9.9's worth?
You may want to learn why it quit. * Out of oil? * Over heat (no water)? Either is posssible in a boat that is not used too much. Normally starting is the issue. When they quit while running... The boat did sit for a year or two before we bought it at the end of February. We checked oil,....it was ...

Need Slip - Chesapeake
I'm looking for a slip in the Chesapeake north of Annapolis and finding slim pickings.
Very few marinas can accomodate my PDQ 36 due to the 18.5 beam.
Anyone have advise on a marina that has slips and that they like?

Re: What are 9.9's worth?
Hi Mark, I just saw your reply to my question on the value of 9.9 Yamaha's. Sorry I didn't see it before the board went belly up a week or so ago. They are the long shaft, high thrust 4 strokes . I had one offer from a marina for $250 a piece, but I think I would keep them as spares at that price. I...

What are 9.9's worth?
I am replacing the 9.9 yammys on my 1993 PDQ 36. The old ones were installed in 2003 & 2004. The previous owner says they have less than 500 hours but I'm suspicious. The hour meters on the boat were never replaced and read 6800-7000 hours. If this is the 3rd set of engines on the boat, maybe he...

Re: 2010 Repower with Yamaha 9.9?
Thanks Bill and Anna,
Very good to get feedback from someone who has done this repower recently... thanks.
I may be inclined to go with the manual tilt as well.
Keep it simple is usually the best approach.

Re: 2010 Repower with Yamaha 9.9?
Thanks Thinwater,
I saw that manual but haven't found any info on the power tilt yet.
I did find this blog entry about repower with the GPXR - http://bacchagato.blogspot.com/2009/01/ ... gines.html
Looks like they will work.

2010 Repower with Yamaha 9.9?
Hello all, I'm looking at a possible repower on a 1993 PDQ 36 Classic and wonder what the latest updates are. I've read a lot of info on this site that references 2006 yammy 9.9's being a little larger than the previous model. Given the time that has gone by since those articles, I'm wondering if th...

Re: Southern US Haul-outs (excluding FL)
We just hauled a PDQ 36 at Wayfarers Cove in NC on the Neuse River.
18' 6" TO 19' 0" is probably max, so we just made it.
Maybe too far North for your plans but a very nice marina with nice folks.
Reasonable price I thought - $6 per foot to Haul out...I guess the same to put her back in.
