Cheap PDQ 36
All, I periodically check online to see what the asking price of our PDQ's is on average and I saw this : http://www.yachtworld.com/boats/1994/Pdq-Classic-2189021/Deerfield-Beach/FL/United-States The boat is listed at 69,000 which seems ultra low. The short detailed write up doesn't give a clue as t...

Re: Door Cassettes
All, The door cassette is the mechanism that actually houses the latch assembly once you remove both handles, the two face plates, the plastic washers and then the control rod. Once you have that piece in your hands, you can see that it resembles a old micro cassette, which I am guessing is where th...

Door Cassettes
Does anyone know where I can purchase replacement door cassettes for the four doors on the inside of a 1994 PDQ 36? ? I have two that have gone bad in the last 2 months and I have not a clue as to where to look. Any ideas are appreciated. Thanks. Regards, Tom s/v Dream Catcher 36041 www.tendervittle...

In the infinite words of the male Clinton, "that depends on what your definition of is (reasonable) is". Can you provide relative prices?

Re: Wall oven in life jacket locker
No, thats the AWCU - Auxiliary Weasel Containment Unit. I'm pretty sure that the only difference between weasels and children is that you can lock weasels away when they are bad.

Re: Ground tackle?
It sounds like you are on the right track with your anchor choices. Of course you've realized that anchoring is such a subjective choice that everyone is willing to fight to the death for their particular anchor, but the reality is you just have to give it a try yourself. We recently switched to the...

Rebedding a Portlight
All, I found two tiny pinholes in the bottom of the frame on the port side, forward, salon, side window that are allowing a lot of water in during periods of heavy rain. I assume this means I need to re-bed the frame, but I'm looking for advice from anyone who has done this previously. Anything I sh...

Re: auto helm
Not sure about the X5, but for the price, why not go with the Autohelm ST4000 plus series that most of our boats came standard with? Ours is sitting on 45,000 miles and with the exception of 3 belt swaps is still going strong. Just curious, not casting judgments..... Regards, Tom www.tendervittles.n...

Re: Bathroom Sink Drain
Yep, that's the one. It's listed as a 1.1/4 inch drain fitting even though the fitting measures 2 inches across. I guess the measurement refers to the aperture on the INSIDE of the sink as that is the only piece that measured 1.1/4. If you want one get me your address and I'll drop it in the mail to...

Re: Bathroom Sink Drain
After two attempts to get the correct part from the Prince of Darkness (West Marine) I took a chance and stopped by the mom and pop store on the waterfront in Oriental (Inland Waterway Provisioning Company). Lo and behold they had three of the proper drain fittings sitting on the shelf. If anyone el...

Bathroom Sink Drain
All,
Our drain fitting in the bathroom sink has finally given up the ghost. Does anyone know of a source for a replacement? I've tried at West Marine but they haven't been able to match it up to anything.
Thanks,
Tom

Shifter Cable Lube
All,
I am trying to be better about keeping my newly installed shifter cables lubed up and I am wondering if anyone has a specific product they use and would recommend.
Thanks,
Tom
