Re: Volvo folding prop two blade 16x11 3858510

Your luck has just changed! The PO tried to fit these on a 36 but they lugged the engine. I think I still have the blades somewhere. Contact me with a PM. If you are looking to re-bush either the hub or blades try H&H propeller. I had them replace a worn splinr in the hub and they say they will ...

Re: Hard top bimini for older PDQ36?

Stamoid is a whole different animal than Sunbrella. If you are looking for waterproof vs water resistant then Seamark might be one choice. Also there is a" hard" bimini on the market check out http://www.wavestopper.net/ . Any good canvas person should be able to adapt either to accommodat...

Re: Yanmar 2 piece Saildrive Zinc Kit

Expensive units but you can probably get them through Mack Boring. When I was quoted by Journey's End Marine in Rockland I think that is where they were getting them from. Two other places to check are www.marinepartsexpress.com or www.boatzincs.com.

Re: Anchor Light

Replace the whole unit with an Orca Green Marine LED unit and never go aloft again.

Re: Bridles and Mooring

I use the setup in the photo and what I do to prevent it from falling off on a slack rode is to pass the stbd. snubber under the chain so that when I let slack on the chain there is a small loop of chain. BTW my windlas is to stbd.

Re: Seat Back Velcro

We h velcro have just completed redoing our cushions and used industrial 1" velcro but we also have short pieces of aluminum (1" x 2") that screws to the back of the cushion and one screw into the fiberglass. I assume it was to overcome the slippage issue.

My Sirius works with the antenna sitting on the shelf and my Garmin 12XL feeds a signal to my laptop nav program while laying on the settee seat.

Re: Ground Tackle

Thinwater, this makes good sense with nylon rodes. I can see where that could solve some of the wrap issues. I'll bet a rolling hitch with a long tail with which to tie a dingy anchor to would work in a pinch.

Re: Ground Tackle

I have a 35# delta with 250' of 5/16" ht, also a BIG Fortress with ~50' 5/16" and 200' 5/8" nylon as well as a smaller Fortress with a shorter length of chain and 5/8" nylon. I did get hung up sideways with the rode wrapped around the keel at the Skipper Bob anchorage at Shallott...

Re: Water in Keel?

Other than the freezing issue I see no concerns with water in the keel. I can only guess that it works its way in around the fairing. Both of my keels clearly showed the water level when the evening temps caused condensation. I hope to never have to store the boat in the Northeast again but with thi...

Re: traveller on hard bimini

Brendan, I was thinking about building a rear bench seat hence the question. The davits on my boat are, in my opinion inadequate. I ended up drilling and pining them to make dingy retrieval easier.

traveller on hard bimini

Has anyone moved their traveler up onto the hard bimini on the older model top? I have not been on a newer boat to study the setup but, from photos it appears that the shape of the gutter is deeper and the top extends aft further. Possibly another vertical support on the aft corners. Is it worth doi...
