Re: Straightening a bent rudder post.
They sailed the rest of the season in the Bahamas and hauled out in St. Augustine where they had a new rudder assembly brought in from the factory.

Re: Straightening a bent rudder post.
For what it's worth.... I actually saw a man affiliated with St. Francis Catamarans (S.Africa) straighten a rudder much like our PDQ's by digging a hole, burying the rudder to the top of the fiberglass, backfilling and then use a backhoe to straighten what had been a 40 degree, multi dimensional twi...

Bahamas Bound - It's Almost Time
Ok, ok, maybe it's still another couple of months yet, but who else is heading south this fall? Are we going to close in on my favorite Ragged Island anchorage and stumble upon another 4 PDQ's like this past year? We hope so. Let us know if your heading down. Re: Propeller Hubs
Chris, Our 1999 Yamaha's ran for 800 hours before we ended up spinning both props within two weeks of each other. We switched to Piranha props after that and went on to put an additional 1700 hours on the engines without issue. We liked them so much that we ordered another set for our 2 new 2007 Yam...

Re: New 9.9's on Friday
All, The starboard engine is in and happy! I will post a detailed report when I am completely done with the port side, but here are a couple of things I thought were worth mentioning now. 1.) The new model 9.9 fits through the engine hatch of the older style boats with about an inch of clearance all...

Re: New 9.9's on Friday
Don, These are the brand new design and fit through the top of the lazerette-top opening only-engine lids that you and I have. The shift cable ends and the actual engine shift/control cables are different, but hopefully the hook up issue is not to big a deal. (I'm still working on it) By the way, I ...

Re: Biting the bullet: T8pxrs
Sandy, Can I get the wiring pin out information from you for the new 10 pin connectors on the new style engine? I suspect it would save me hours and hours while trying to put mine in. I am flying home this week, maybe we an get together and you can walk me through your install? Dinner is on me. Tom ...

Re: Force 10 Cooktop
Chris,
No they did not, but if your stove has drop in metal top caps you have the older style (like me). The new style are polished, stainless steel, very thin, and they have two screw holding them on. Hope this helps.

Re: Force 10 Cooktop
All, Just an update.... According to the Force 10 Company, the old style stove top burner caps are no longer available. Apparently there was some sort of fire at the company that makes them (in France) and as such they are no longer being sold. The only other option is to get the burner upgrade kit ...

Force 10 Cooktop
All,
I was wondering if anyone has a source for parts for the Force 10 propane oven. Specifically, I am trying to replace the two burner tops (diffusers) on the grill top. They are 2.25 inches and 3.75 inches in diameter.
Thanks,
Tom

Re: New 9.9's on Friday
All, Ok, we picked them up. They are in fact 2008 (11.15.07 - manufactured date) 9.9's with a 25 inch shaft and integral electric trim mechanism. We got them from Lentine Marine in Stuart Florida (http://www.lentinemarine.com/) and the cost was $2495 per engine plus tax. Lou (owner) said they keep t...

New 9.9's on Friday
All, For anyone interested, I have ordered a pair of the new Yamaha 9.9's and we are picking them up on Friday. I called four different places, three of which were able to get them for us. Of the three, two had to order them from Yamaha and said it would be 5 or 6 days to get them delivered to the d...

Direct Head Discharge
All, I am wondering if anyone with a 36 has put in a y valve for a direct discharge from the head over board? Our (I assume) factory original installation runs to the the holding tank and then to a y valve down stream that can select either the deck fitting or directly over board. This system works ...
