Another Option?

Guys, At the risk of playing the devil's advocate....... I looked at numerous options for an arch solution on 36041 before deciding to build and weld my own design. I talked to a very respected shop in Annapolis about doing a design as well as talking to the same man mentioned earlier in this post, ...

Underway

Sandy, I've run it underway, but only rarely. We generally confine its running to anchor only as in a serious sea way, the generators impressive 28 pound mass would not hold it in one location without assistance As a curiosity, why would you need to run it under way? I'm guessing maybe for your auto...

Honda Generator

Sandy, We started out with a Honda 1000 and found that it could power either one of our air conditioner units, but not both. We have a 9000 BTU and under the port side settee in the salon and a 6500 BTU unit in the starboard tube. I recently swapped some unused gear for a Honda 2000 and I can now ru...

A Question

Your installation looks much better then I had envisioned, but I do have a question. From the pictures posted on PDQ36.com, I cannot tell if you davits are still usable. Can you tell me how you will carry your dinghy?

Thanks,
Tom

Looking for SeaPaws

All,

I am trying to contact Chester on Sea Paws (PDQ 34). I have left him a private message on this board, but I do not know if he still checks in here. Does anyone have an email address for him?

Thanks,
Tom - Dream Catcher

Other Idea

For what it's worth, I too lost my little end pieces and after not being able to find replacements decided to use e-clip retainers. They cost about 13 cents a piece and I have had no problems with them in over three years.

Goodluck,
Tom

It Lives !!!

All, After about 25 attempts, I have finally beat the auto pilot into submission. I replaced the belt, but that didn't help. It turns out that the little pin in the plastic handle was rotating inside the fitted plastic elbow joint. I remove the little set screw, drilled out the hole in both the plas...

Autohelm Repair

All, Our autohelm 4000 wheel pilot has recently stopped working correctly. The lever that you push to engage the friction plates has stopped locking. Has anyone else seen this? Is there a known fix other than using a rope or bungie cord to hold it in place. I haven't yet taken it apart, I thought I'...

Ampair Wind Gen

All, I have a 2 year old, 6 blade, 36" diameter Ampair wind gen that we replaced with a larger 60" diameter Kiss. The wind gen works fine, is super quiet and comes with a regulator. As I no longer have use for it, I would like to sell it for $500 (OBO). You can contact me at sailPDQ36@veri...

Wolther Heater - Free to good home.

All, We have built a solar power only hot water heating system that replaces our Wolther propane unit that came on the boat originally. I had it repaired by that dude in Ohio who used to work at Wolther three years ago and since then it has worked on again/off again depending on the time of year, ti...

Burner Replacement

All,

We are experiencing problems with our two burner, Force 10, oven/broiler stove. It seems our two burner tops are about to rust out and give up the ghost . Has anyone had to replace these parts? If so, can you recommend someone to deal with?

Thanks guys,
Tom

9.9 Prop Ring

All,

Does anyone know where we can and what we call the ring that mounts on the prop shaft, behind the prop and in front of the prop nut? I have broken mine and need to replace it. Thanks.
