Galley Sinks

Hey all, I was curious if any 36' owners have a sink configuration different than ours. We have two small round sinks, maybe 12 inches or so in diameter, 6 inches deep with the faucet mounted between them and pushed back and inboard almost to the cabinetry. Amy has been on me for a couple of years t...

Re: Stack Pack

Marc, XPVC is short for expanded poly vinyl chloride or expanded PVC. I used 3 mm thick, 8 foot x 4 foot sheets and no, it isn't strong enough to stand on. It is however, strong enough to mount more solar panels on and it is stiff enough that it does not move about in 60 knots of wind. I only know t...

Re: Stack Pack

Mike, I had to go check the picture myself as I have just finished building a hard top for mine, but I was pretty sure I hadn't shown it to anybody yet. For a minute I thought maybe I put a picture of it up here by mistake. If your interested, the one I made is thermoformed out of XPVC. It weighs in...

Re: Stack Pack

Tom, Thanks for the comments. We are still in the Orlando area trying to finish up several boat jobs so we can splash Dream Catcher and head out. The boat yard is conspiring against us and it is taking forever to finish a few outstanding items. That and I broke my foot just before Thanksgiving and i...

Re: Stack Pack

Mike, Ours was made to fit the existing lazy jack rigging that came with the boat. We too had single line coming from just below mid way up the mast that were spliced to two lines per side about 8 feet over the boom. I am taking each of these lines and splicing them again to make 4 lines per side. I...

Stack Pack

All, I finally got back down to the boat and test fit my homemade stack pack. I've attached a picture showing the test fitting. For any PDQ owners who have some sort of stack pack, how many leash lines do you have from your lazy jacks? I made my pack with 5 per side, but this is probably too many as...

Re: Hull Extensions

Sealed bid? With a target audience of less than 100?

I'm all for recovering costs and getting paid for time spent, but is it just me or does that seem a little extreme?

Hatch Hinges

Hey Guys,

Does anyone have a supplier/info on replacing the hinge mechanisms on the Bomar hatches? I have several that are broken or failing and I need to come up with something before we take off in November. Any ideas would be greatly appreciated.

Re: WiFi antenna

Hey guys, On the issue of the Engenius versus the Alfa, the Alfa has exactly twice the power output of the Engenius and in theory the range should be twice as far as the Engenius. The reality of the situation for us is that we get about 1.5 to 1.75 times the distance of the Engenius with the high po...

Alright Terry, you guilted me into emailing your buddy to offer to ferry supplies, but if it's a large quantities of drugs and I go to jail, remember, I know where you live.

Re: Hull Extensions

Hey Sandy, Unfortunately, we are sitting in the rain in the remnants of TS Fay in north Orlando. The only lobster I've seen in 8 weeks are the ones at the local Publix store. I tried to go in their the other day with my spear and my swim fins, but for some reason they wouldn't let me in the back roo...

Re: Main Sail Handling

Phil, While in the Bahamas this past season, I was on another PDQ 36 named Sam the Skull and Jon, or more correctly his wife Barbara, had made their own "stack pack" style main sail cover. I believe Barb did the design herself based on a similar sail cover they had on their monohull. I've ...

Re: Hull Extensions

Sandy, The year we left for the Bahamas (2003 or 2004) I saw Ite Oha Oha, a Seawind 33, (I think) get her extensions done at Herrington Harbour North. I can't remember the owner's name but he was pretty cool to talk to and was very impressed with the changes the extensions made to his boat. I also h...
