Re: Engine Gauges analogue to digital conversion
UPDATE: I took the boat out and noticed that the rpm on the Noland converter would not go over 3000 rpm as displayed on the Axiom. I called Kevin at Noland and he said to connect the P minus 1 and 2 terminals to the ground terminal with a jumper. That solved the problem with the rpm reading. I also ...

Re: Engine Gauges analogue to digital conversion
Hi Doug, Kevin at Nolan mentioned 126 and it seem to agree with my analog gauge. It is impossible to read the analog gauge and tell the difference between 126 and 127. Next time I reprogram I will change it to 127. The nice thing I like about the conversion is that you can tune the engines into much...

Engine Gauges analogue to digital conversion
I always wanted a set of engine gages at the upper helm. Presently I only have tachs. Since I added the axiom displays I decided to get a NoLand RS11 analog to digital converter to read engine instruments on the Axioms. Pretty straight forward installation. For the 100 hp engine you only need to tap...

Re: Analog to Digital engine instrument conversion
Hi Alan,
I looked at the EMU-1. It seems beside purchasing the EMU-1 an interface unit is required to program the converter. Did you have to do this or did the installer do the programming? The interface unit for programming is close to $300.00.

Alan,
Is the reduce rates because of the docking system?

Analog to Digital engine instrument conversion
I am planning on converting my analog instruments to digital NEMA 2000 so that it will display on the Axioms MDFs. I want to keep the analog gauges at the lower helm and tachs at the upper helm. Presently I don’t have engine water temperature and pressure at the upper helm. I would also like to add ...

Re: Upgrading from Raymarine ESeries to Raymarine Axiom
Just finish upgrading from the E-120s to Axiom ProS on the lower helm and an Axiom RV on the upper helm, both are 12”. The Axiom ProS has the sounder for the depth transducer built in. Raymarine has adapter plates for the upgrade. I also replaced the thru hull transducer with another. The job when e...

Transducer Replacement
After one of my MFDs went out. I had a problem with the DMC 300 for the depth finder. I decided to replace the electronics. As part of the replacement I ordered a new transducer a Raymarine CPT-S thru hull. The one that came with the boat is located below the fridge and it requires a 2” thru hole. T...

Re: Upgrading from Raymarine ESeries to Raymarine Axiom
It has been a busy year. Replaced the fridge when the original one quit, replaced the ice maker when it quit, replaced a temperature gauge. Well this last trip out the lower Raymarine E120 stopped working. It would periodically shut down and then restart. It would also loose all of it settings upon ...

Re: Engine temperature
I ran the engines at the dock up to 1400 rpm with the props engaged. The gauge readings after a while settled to approx. 165 on the starboard engine and about 180 on the port engine. I then checked the coolant water pumps near the temperature sending units with an infrared gun. The starboard engine ...

Engine temperature
I have my starboard engine temperature running at 195 degrees F while the port engine is 175 degrees F. Does anyone know what is the proper temperature for the 100 horsepower engines at WO ? Based on a visual of the exhaust both have about the same water flow. Also noticed that the oil pressure on t...

I know the discuss has come up about replacing the engines. Just wanted to pass on a YouTube video I saw this morning titled “ Sharrow Marine- Showdown in Paradise” by BoatTEST.com. The boat tested was a powercat fitted with outboard diesels. It discussed the problems with replacing inboard engines....

Re: Replacement Mattresses
I found the mattress to be good quality. The mattress fits like the old one except for the aft taper. I did not noticed that the taper made any difference. You can’t even notice that the mattress is not tapered when layer out for sleeping. I doubt it will make any difference when sleeping. As far as...

Replacement Mattresses
I recently read the Newsletter on the replacement trifold mattress. I have not put them in but was wondering about retaining the 1" spring plastic that is under the mattress. I would appreciate any experience others have had with the trifold mattresses.
