PDQ 34 information

Post by ReRoute »

Hello all,

I’m looking at a 1989 PDQ 34 sailboat and trying to do my due diligence. Usually the internet is full of information but so far I’ve come up remarkably dry. There is a ton of information about the 32 and 36, so I have a pretty good feel for the brand in general, Ijust don’t want to assume the 34 is the same since it preceded the others.

Does anyone know if the hulls and construction are consistent with the later models? Really, any information would be greatly appreciated. Here is the link to the listing if that helps:

Thanks in advance,

hi,

i believe that the early boats were 34'. pdq stretched it to 36' soon after. basically it's the same boat. i'm sure more knowledgable owners will fill you in on details.

Thanks Duetto,

That was my understanding as well. This is HID #2, so maybe the second PDQ cat off the line? I’m trying to decide if that’s good or bad😂

Got a close up today, biggest concern is cracking and repair at the hull-deck joint as you walk down the ladder into the galley. I’ll try to post photos.

hi,

i'm the wrong one to answer your detail questions. you should probably get on the sailcat 36 forum and post your questions. i'm not sure how many actually visit this forum.

good luck.
