Adding an electric outlet to the port cabin

Post by Phenix-former-owner »

Years ago, I added an electric outlet to the starboard cabin. I ran the wire from the panel in the nav area to the outlet and I remember the wiring being a pretty easy run.

Now, I want to add an outlet to the port cabin. I could run a dedicated wire all the way from the panel to the cabin, but I'm thinking that the most logical would be to run the wiring from a galley outlet (microwave or the one next to the sink). But I have NEVER been inside the cabinet that is under the stove (where the microwave is). I haven't even loosened the screws.

Has anyone done this? Where did you put the outlet and how did you run the wiring?

Alternatively, anyone with an AC unit under that bunk? Maybe you can tell me where the wiring run is?

Thanks.
